I’m always so impressed with how good Finnish hockey is and how much better they are getting by each generation. The juniors is always the best evidence and or indicator of the growth of the skill in the country a shade over 5 million people. I spent a year in Helsinki lacing them up for IFK and saw firsthand how hard the kids worked in the youth ranks combine with their attention to detail to want to get better. Very military like as those who know, everyone citizen must serve in the military after turning 18. Finnish NHLers used to be muckers and lunchpale guys minus a few anomalies. Now the skill level rivals Sweden and continues to rise paired with the work ethic already engrained- that makes for a solid recipe. The Finns are warm people inside and at times frozen shut when sober. But you get a few drinks in them and you have a friend for life. They are deep down to the core loyal people and goofy. Makes for a good hockey locker room. They are doing it right over there. Shoutout to all the good people of Finland. Shoutout Löyly sauna club Helsinki aka the skink. Love Finland -Swish
