A challenge exists bridging the science and crypto communities. We want to change that. Quantum biology is one example of what that future looks like in practice. But the bigger shift is decentralized science itself, and what becomes possible when open infrastructure meets rigorous research. If you're thinking about where science, crypto, and collaboration are heading, we'd love for you to be part of the conversation.

I’m not a bot. I’m a chemist. I’m a human with a PhD in Chemistry, trying to talk about science. My goal is simple, make people smarter, not angrier. Science, explained clearly. I swear this place is full of bots. If you are a human too, drop a “Hi” so I can get to know you.

🚨 BREAKING: Human cells may behave far more like quantum systems than we ever imagined. New research suggests biological cells process information in ways surprisingly similar to quantum computers. Your body already runs on electrical signaling. But scientists are now exploring whether quantum-like effects help coordinate biological processes at microscopic scales. That changes the question completely: Maybe consciousness, memory, and cellular communication are not just chemical reactions… but emergent information fields operating across complex electrical networks. Nature may have discovered quantum optimization billions of years before humans built quantum computers. If true, biology itself could become the blueprint for the next generation of computing. We might not be building machines to mimic humans. We may be rediscovering the physics life has been using all along. Follow for more breakthroughs where physics, biology, and computation collide.

A deeper look at the quantum world is opening new possibilities. Yale researchers have built a superconducting circuit that recreates proton tunneling, a quantum phenomenon found in systems ranging from photosynthesis to human DNA. The discovery could help advance research in solar fuels, pharmaceuticals, and materials science: bit.ly/4t7kRSq

Why does quantum biology matter now? Because new tools, stronger evidence, and new ways of exploring science are making the field actionable. For decades, quantum effects in biology were difficult to test directly. Today, advances in instrumentation, interdisciplinary collaboration, and decentralized research models are creating real pathways to investigate and apply these mechanisms. Understanding biology at the quantum level could unlock major breakthroughs in health, longevity, biomanufacturing, and human performance. Quantum biology matters now because the field is moving from theory toward real-world discovery.

The DAO's grantee, the Quantum Biology Institute (QBI), headed to the Bay Area this week. Some members of the @QuantumBioOrg team attended and presented at @SynBioBeta, while others visited leading laboratories across the region, building relationships with researchers and leaders at the forefront of science and emerging tech. More to come and, as always, the future of biology is #quantum!

How does decision-making work in the Quantum Biology DAO? Because the DAO is community-governed, major decisions do not happen behind closed doors. They move through a public proposal process where community members can share ideas, give feedback, and vote. 1. Drafting on Discord This is where an idea starts. A community member shares a proposal in Discord, and others can ask questions, suggest changes, or show support. 2. Community voting on Common If the idea gets enough support, it moves to Common, a public discussion and voting platform. This gives the wider community a chance to review the proposal more formally and vote on whether it should move forward. To vote in this stage, participants need to hold at least 10,000 QBIO tokens in a connected wallet. The proposal needs at least 10 total votes and a majority in favor to move to the final stage. (There is actually a proposal in this stage right now. You can check it out here: common.xyz/quantum-biolog…) 3. Final token voting on Snapshot If the proposal passes on Common, it moves to Snapshot for the final vote. This is where QBIO token holders vote to decide whether the proposal officially passes. To pass in this stage, at least 3% of all tokens must participate in the vote, and a majority must vote in favor. >> That is DAO governance in action.

The Quantum Biology Ecosystem continues to grow! We're pleased to introduce Dr. Venkatesh Sridharan, the new Head of Redox Biology at the @QuantumBioOrg. His work will explore how quantum mechanics may shape biological reactions at the molecular level, focusing on redox processes central to metabolism and cellular function. Dr. Sridharan began his academic journey in India with a background in food technology before transitioning into biology during his PhD, where he studied protein production in fungi. That shift led to a broader focus on human health, including cardiovascular and retinal diseases, and later to leading disease biology efforts in industry developing therapies for heart failure. Now, he’s bringing that experience into quantum biology, where he’s especially excited about what this field could unlock for the world of therapeutics. Welcome to the frontier of biology!

New instruments drive new science. At the Quantum Biology Institute, that means building the tools needed to turn their hypotheses into testable experiments. Weak magnetic fields may offer a new knob to actuate on biological systems. Once we understand what field conditions produce which effects, the path from knowledge to application could move quickly. Take a look at the video below where Dr. @LodesaniA gives an overview of the work being done at the @QuantumBioOrg and the instruments being developed and used to support that work. youtu.be/ryvZiijPSSY

We’re excited to share that data from the Quantum Biology Institute is publicly available! >> data.quantumbiology.org These electronic lab notebooks show some of the ongoing experimental work being carried out by the scientists at @QuantumBioOrg as they investigate quantum effects in biology. Instead of only seeing the final results in a paper, you can look directly at the data and follow along with the research as it develops. Whether you’re a researcher, student, or simply curious about how science works behind the scenes, we invite you to explore the data yourself.
