@supMitchh This is also strictly for contest raid/dungeon race stuff, not-swap/locked loadouts shouldn't exist outside of contest cause people want to use the fun stuff and min-max as many loadouts as possible

@supMitchh I want to have to coordinate more with teammates like "I've got this wave/yellow bar/large enemy" rather than us all being able to do everything, all the time. I think if our ability to nuke everything at once is reduced it will help a ton for deciding between damage and survival

Regarding Not-Swap. Would people be fine to reset abilities and ammo if anything is changed rather than just armour and ammo types? This creates pseudo locked loadouts and people can still change stuff mid attempt if they want but would lose current ammo and abilities

@derekrld2 Mint being OP isn't tied to a locked loadouts problem though. Hypothetically, say if Sidearms were really strong for survival/ad clear but snipers were strong for DPS we'd have to make a choice there. Not swap needs changes but imo a locked loadout system would make a better race

@Quazz79 Like trade offs are a great thought, but then they make something like mint and it just makes zero sense from a balance or design standpoint besides being "fun" for a little bit. Best weapon for neutral that still competes in boss damage with hella range and decent total

@supMitchh Yeah, survivability needs to be harder to make it a decision but I don't think thats a locked loadout/not-swap issue. Its an issue in general of enemies either one-shotting us or not being threatening.

@Quazz79 They would have to make survivability/neutral way harder than it is currently to even make this a real decision in our heads, and even then they leave the door open for bosses getting 2 phased because you’re leaving damage on the table which imo is very bad for contest

@lilmazino I don't think the reason for nothing in the game demanding survivability is a not-swap issue. Thats an issue with survivability which if it was more difficult to survive than decisions would be harder to make in a locked loadout situation.

@Quazz79 In regular contest DP it felt so fun swapping so many loadouts to optimize the encounter and during epic dp it felt pretty boring staying on the same loadout the entire time

I personally don't mind not swap in its current form but recognize that it does have some issues. I like how it restricts us from having everything at the moment and having to sacrifice some of our strength if we want to maximize damage or sac a bit of damage to survive easier

Imo this makes people have to decide on more trade offs in loadouts and show who can get the most from their loadout rather than trying to pull the most from multiple loadouts that not swap in its current form still incentivizes

I don’t think it’s a hot take to say this: Bungie RAD play testers should not be teaching teams raid mechanics on day one. Especially when: 1) those raid mechanics are unsolved 2) not even 5 teams have cleared the raid Have some shame.
