I'm sorry to have to tell you all that Gus went to dog heaven this morning. I did everything I could to buy him time to try to treat the cancer but the pain meds stopped working and it wasn't fair to him. His wonderful vet - the only person he would ever allow to clip his toenails - opened her office on a Sunday morning just for him. He was the sweetest little guy - Olympic level toy hoarder, hiking buddy extraordinaire, professional napper, hilarious goofball, and my best friend. He wasn't my dog - I was his person. I buried him in his favorite blanket with his toy hoard. I'll miss him forever. Goodbye, buddy. 💔

Just called the hospital to get an update on Gus - he did well last night and is sleeping right now. Don't have an exact time for the MRI but they will call me later and update.
