There wasn’t any logic waiting to move UM ahead of ND if Conf championship game outcomes are inconsequential. If Head to head was a factor, you had it all year. This isn’t a serious committee. It’s a made for TV event. Expand and get rid of the committee. BCS was a better formula. For ND, you now know 11-1 is the worst you can do to secure a spot in this current playoff format.

The CFP selection process is a joke. Punish BYU for losing the conference championship game, but don’t punish Alabama and you leave out Notre Dame. The bias has never been more clear.

Ultimately BYU's margin of loss in two games vs Texas Tech was its undoing. There are a lot of metrics in favor of BYU but it seems to me that the committee dismissed the Cougars with those two margins.

@trey_sakow @NicoleAuerbach If Alabama loses, they are still in… with 3 loses. Same for Georgia, Tech, IU or Ohio state. ACC is a true outlier this year. BYU is the only one being told… lose and your done. With an 11-1 record. Because they are put at 11.

The committee made it abundantly clear it’s not merit based. The playoffs is just the cool kids club and BYU isn’t perceived as a cool kid. ND and the SEC are the cool kids. The whole thing is a sham
