These demoralized Canadians are losers that need to be sidelined as much as possible.
They can't image a world where we have agency in making decisions for what's best for Canada.
They can only conceive of Canada as being a vassal to be traded between the UK and Yankees.

My final history post of the day: Canada formed as an unwanted child in the divorce between the US and Britain. In the 1860s Britain was fighting many global wars. It was costly to be fighting wars on multiple fronts. Canada was considered a strategic asset but the industrial age eliminated the need for Canadian lumber to build ships for the Royal Navy. Following the US Civil War, the US demanded reparations from Britain. Pay money or cede Canada. The BNA Act was drafted by Brits and an appointed PM to reduce the financial and military burdens of defending the colony; let it sustain itself. The BNA Act formed a self-governing colony, not a sovereign nation.

So, I discourage anyone who is not purely Scottish, English, or French from disparaging any other ethnic groups.

Irishman James FitzGibbon was a guerrilla hero who received Laura Secord’s warning and helped win key battles. Many stayed, took land grants, and became early pre-Confederation settlers.

They were the largest English speaking population group at Confederation, were the backbone of our early industries, and were the unifying force between English/Scottish and French due to being both Anglos and Catholics.

It wasn't until decades later that small numbers of Chinese labourers helped build our railroads, and even they were strongly pushed to remigrate via the head tax. Even in 1921 they were only 0.3%.

The Irish were the 2nd largest single Canadian ethnic group after the French in 1867 at ~24%, ahead of both English & Scottish. Irish-born Thomas D'Arcy McGee was known as the "Orator of Confederation" and a key figure in our founding.
