We're delighted to welcome Dani to our lab this summer! He joins us through the Joves i Ciència program by @FCLP_Fundacio giving talented high school students the chance to experience research firsthand. We hope he enjoys this first taste of neuroscience research. Welcome, Dani!

The lab's traditional 4th of July lunch may have been late, but it still checked all the boxes: pool, burgers, and the best company. Some traditions are worth waiting for!

Albert has a new toy... Albertito! It is a Backyard Brains SpikerBot: an educational robot controlled by simulated neural circuits. In theory, he will use it to teach neuroscience, but he is having lots (too much?) of fun meanwhile! @albert_qr78

Some of us are in Angers this week for #EUROMIT2026! It's been a great opportunity to share our research, connect with colleagues, and learn about the latest advances in mitochondrial biology and disease. Special congrats to Aniol and Marta for their excellent flash talks! 👏

The XI Jornades de BioRecerca UABio started today and it's been an exciiiiting day! Günter and Carla gave amazing talks, and we're proud to celebrate Sergi, who was awarded with the Best Poster recognition, and Mel, who won the Outstanding Article award. Congrats to all of them!

10/12-year-old students from the CROMA programme, organized by the Fundació Autònoma Solidària, visited our lab yesterday. We loved discussing science with them!

Our very own Roser Bastida @bb_roser just became a Doctor today!! While she is an expert in science communication, we had to take her role with this post! So proud of her!!!

Last Friday, @albert_qr78 took part in the #STEMTalksMenorca2026, organized by the @GDGMenorca, talking about the research we do in the lab. For once, he was surrounded by engineering students instead of biomed people! And all happened in an amazing spot at the Port of Maó 😍
