ZA is the 1st time that we see forms for Mega Evolutions! AND there’s now 93(96 with forms)Mega Evos in total. Basically Megas are essentially their own gen of Pokémon designs. & I can totally see getting 7 more Megas in Champs/Gen10 to get to a clean 100 Megas in total too👀

@soulsilverart If you have to start with “I don’t think people understand” then the design is a total failure, especially since the design only “works” for a fraction of second that most people miss it

IT’S MEGA TOTODILE! I don’t think people understand the genius that is Mega Feraligatr. It’s a love letter to fans of this line & especially Totodile. Here’s its design inspiration🧵: -It’s primarily the Japanese fantasy trope & is seen specifically in Kamen Rider Revi(Revice). Which is essentially where 2 of the characters fuse to form this giant Dino with their bodies,and their arms are used as the jaw! I don’t think the worldwide community ever thought that GameFreak would go in such a Japanese direction with this design,but guess what THEY’RE A JAPANESE COMPANY and they have made many Kamen Rider, Ultraman, Kaiju references before. It also could be considered a “Transformer” -GameFreak knew how beloved(and goofy/cute)Totodile is. I held a pole myself and the majority picked Totodile over Feraligatr. I think people were expecting only a menacing dragon,but they did a blend of cute and cool,to call back Totodile. And there’s precedent for this because MANY megas have traits/references from their previous stages. The big red head is literally to Totodile’s head model with some teeth. Feraligatr’s side plates on its upper body grow out into spikes and form little Totodile arms(complete with thumbs)that stretch out to its sides when its arms go forward to form the full Toto head/jaw. The beige belly mark also moves up to its chest to resemble Totodile more. It even has the 3 red Toto lines on its back and single red tail spike. Lastly when the big head is standing upright on Feraligatr’s back, it resembles Totodile’s official art pose, with its mouth open and pointing up! -This call back to Totodile isn’t uninspired though! It’s a reference to when alligators literally carry their young IN THEIR MOUTHS. Except here it’s reversed. The big Toto head has Feraligatr’s head in its “mouth”. ALSO once the babies get bigger they often then begin to travel sitting on the mother’s back/head! Just like how the fin is purposely placed on Feraligatr’s back! -It’s also called a “hood-like fin”-the hood comes from it being a piece of clothing. Feraligatr has now joined the list of Pokémon that have body parts that make what resembles clothing. This is because Paris is one of the fashion capitals of the world and alligator skins have historically been a part of fashion. Even “Lacoste”, a popular French fashion brand, famously uses an alligator logo on their clothing. @soulsilverart Take Raichu, in the base game, not the scrubbed list and still getting megas. How does its Dex look, if no mega indications there then any Pokemon including the base ones can get megas

LEAKS List of Pokémon with blank dex entries in ZA’s data. I THINK THESE ARE THE ONES THAT WILL BE ADDED IN THE DLC. Therefore this is the list that the DLC Megas will be chosen from.Narrows it down a lot NO FLYGON NO LANTURN NO GEN6 Gen9 Pokémon will be there-added later-trust

@soulsilverart I’m actually starting to think the opposite. As we are going to alternate Lumiose, I’m thinking we may get megas of Pokemon in ZA lumiose, that in the alternate dimension get a mega.

I could be wrong,but IDK if many,or even if any,Gen6 Pokémon will get Megas in the ZA DLC I’d imagine that the majority of Pokemon that will get Megas are the new ones added into the DLC(Pokédex),and not the ones already in the ZA base game Pokédex And since essentially every Gen6 Pokemon is gonna be in base game ZA… It also makes sense for it to be this way so that we can play through the DLC plot raising up a team of newly added Pokemon instead of using the level 80 Noivern we have from the base game… Just sucks cause I really want Clawitzer. That’s my #1 Kalos pick to get a Mega in the DLC (Barring Xerneas & Yveltal)

@soulsilverart As a mythical Pokemon, it could come like many mythicals. As a promotional gift. So it could come for example a a Pokemon champions release gift, “download champions, get Zeraora holding Zeraoranite in ZA”. So it does not have to DLC related

Not only would it supposedly be a 5th pure electric Mega,but it has some similar electric design traits that would be really redundant They could easily change up its typing and design though… so I still believe… but plans change too.

@soulsilverart Why is it different than adding 1-2 mythical after the game is out for promoting movies/series/games. Maybe you would get mega zeraora once champions is released as a cross promotion

SPOILERY Maybe Zeraora could be a gift mega in a small ZA free DLC-IG to use in ZA multiplayer & Champs?Could function like a“new”mythical for ZA But if we’re adding a new mega,why not add 2-5 more while we’re at it?I can’t see adding 1 after the main game is fully complete too

Maybe you noticed this, maybe not. I was walking my dog yesterday and, as you do, I started thinking about random stuff—specifically the GO Wild Area. I started thinking about Gmax Grimmsnarl and how it’s going to be the top Dark-type attacker in the game until we eventually get Gmax Single-Strike Urshifu. Then I remembered that Gmax Grimmsnarl has a really annoying Gmax move, and I thought, “Oh, that’s why they added Shadow Darkrai and Cresselia to this Wild Area!” Gmax Grimmsnarl’s Gmax move (G-Max Snooze) has a 50% chance to make the target Pokémon drowsy. And obviously, Darkrai has the Bad Dreams ability and causes nightmares, etc. So, beyond just the Dark typing, it also fits better thematically with the Wild Area. Pointless information, I know😝

It's very obvious Pokémon GO is cleaning the OG Mega House in September, likely making room for future Legends ZA Mega releases to be exciting and meaningful. Now for that Mega Mewtwo X/Y, we kinda expect those next year with the 10th Anniversary. Thoughts?

This“overview”mashup Pokémon LegendsZA trailer dropped a few weeks ago…it was essentially a“pre-orders”trailer. Do you think TPC considered this as part of the ZA promo cycle?I hope not…Fans barely even knew it happened lol I’d call it a commercial

@soulsilverart It has me worried, after the return to Scarlet and Violet with the Switch 2 upgrade. One of the greatest things is getting on Koraidon/Miraidon and and flying around the area and enjoying the scope. ZA seems too limited and closed.

I think Pokémon LegendsZA’s box art featuring the Z-A Royal(at night)as opposed to PLA’s daytime art says A LOT about the game. It tells us that the focus of this game is battling instead of the daytime capturing/filling dex feature that was the focus of PLA. In the PLA art you can see the MC’s holding Pokeballs(ready to capture and explore),facing spear pillar which was key to the PLA plot. Instead in ZA’s we see no Pokeballs but the Pokemon in a(mega)battle, but still all facing Prism Tower which could be key to the ZA plot. Obviously the PLA catching feature is still part of the game with wild zones and more but this is telling us it’s not the focus.
