Good #quizbowl Thursday afternoon from Ashtabula! The Ashtabula Quizbowl League title game between defending champion Jefferson Area and 2024 champion Geneva is at 3:30. The winner will be the 1 seed for the ESC Scholastic Bowl tournament on Saturday at Kent State-Ashtabula.

After three years of playing the Salem trash tournament at a high level, the #quizbowl team at Alliance has agreed to join the Mahoning League as our 28th team in 2027! They are the second Stark County team to join a tossup-bonus league (Lake Center Christian is in Portage).

Good #quizbowl Friday afternoon from Alliance! Tomorrow is my 2nd of (hopefully) 3 trash events this season at Salem: 32 teams on Virginia Tech's VOLT set. Earlier today, Hudson A got revenge against Aurora A at the Portage tournament in Garrettsville, winning the final by 70.

We've hit 32 teams registered for NAQT State on April 11 at Bellefontaine. Enrollment ranges from 1567 (Beavercreek) to 78 (Bristol). 18 non-small schools 14 small schools (7 very small) 21 counties represented #quizbowl

25 teams are now signed up for NAQT State. Of those, 14 are small schools (NAQT definition) and 11 are not. Of the 14 small schools, 6 are very small (again, NAQT definition). Enrollment ranges from 1122 to 91, per latest ODEW figures (Oct. 2025).

Registration for the 2026 NAQT State #Quizbowl Championship Tournament is now open to all Ohio teams. 21 signed up during the invite-only period including defending overall champion Northmont and small school champion Pandora-Gilboa. Tournament is April 11 at Bellefontaine HS.

Congratulations to Howland, the champion of the 36th Mahoning #Quizbowl Tournament! They took down League Champion Bristol 265-195 in the first game of an advantaged final. Sharpsville claimed third, beating Columbiana 255-180 in the third place game.
