Only Penguins fans and their biggest homer writers actually thought the Penguins were Cup contender-good. They were in the same talent/statistical bucket as the Flyers. The Canes aren't. They ARE an actual Cup contender. A series win over them would be a true, major upset.

Why is that cup win more memorable over say the Blues in 2019? That cup run was way more memorable over the Caps run. Blues went from around dead last in January to Cup winners.
