@ArashSelective Those who know my history know exactly what I am getting at

@ArashSelective To add to that, being a community manager also means cleaning up other people’s messes and dealing with the chaotic PR disasters that come with it—like, ‘Yeah, we all know this is a terrible idea, but their doing it anyway and I have to go along with it.’ 😉😉

Honestly, this kind of thing that someone with only 1 year experience can label himself a CMO, only happens in crypto. I’m not saying it’s good or bad, but when a company hires a C-level exec, especially for marketing, there are a few things you just expect from the guy (Last points are more important):
Community Management: He needs to really get how the crypto community works. If he’s been a mod or a CM before, that’s a big win. You can’t fake experience in this space.
Social Media: He should know the difference between Web2 and Web3 media inside out. It’s not just about posting stuff, it’s about knowing how to attract people, keep them engaged, and actually retain them. Imagine someone suggests Facebook Ads for a Web3 product in early days of the product!
Campaigns: He doesn’t need to be a Zealy or Galxe expert, but he should at least know what they are and how they work. Or at least he must know how to make a good campaign around the product, without using any third party application. If he can’t run a basic campaign or rally a community, that’s a problem.
Strategy: Being a CMO isn’t just about doing stuff, it’s about planning. You’ll have a team to help with execution, but most of your time should be spent thinking ahead, coordinating efforts, and making sure everything runs smoothly.
Team Management: This one’s super underrated. I’ve seen so many teams fall apart just because of poor management. Doesn’t matter if it’s Web3 or not, if you want real results, you need someone who can lead a team, handle time zones, and deal with different cultures without freaking out.
Network: This is the biggest one. If your marketing lead doesn’t have a solid network, it’s game over. Honestly, like 85% of success in crypto isn’t even about the product, it’s about marketing and knowing the right people.

To be a CMO you need to have spent at least 1 year moderating an online community. I will not elaborate
