We are delighted to announce that Oghosa Williams has officially signed a contract with the club! 💙 ✍️ Oghosa’s journey has been nothing short of inspiring. Developing through our academy, he showed resilience, dedication, and an incredible work ethic. By the end of the Scholarship programme, Oghosa had transformed into one of the standout performers, earning his place as one of the best players in his group and catching the attention of everyone at the club with his sharp finishing and hunger to succeed. Reece Parara: “Oghosa is proof to all of our scholars that if you work hard and have the talent you will be rewarded. He started in our 4th squad as a scholar and has consistently proven himself to be a reliable goalscorer, and that hard work has now been rewarded with a contract at the club. This season he’s impacting games and scoring a lot of goals in senior football, and as coaches, myself and Beardo are really proud of him. Grassroots Anonymous Confessions... This week, I spoke (slightly heated) with a dad who consistently shouts instructions to his son during training and matches, often directing him to do the opposite of my coaching. The lad also trains with a pro club development squad at an academy, so I asked if he gave instructions there. He admitted that the academy requires silence from parents during sessions. We discussed how it would benefit both his son and me as a coach if he refrained from giving instructions during games. However, he firmly refused, insisting he knew how to get the best out of his son. When I pointed out that he can remain quiet at the academy, he replied, "Yeah, but they’re proper coaches."
