Já repararam que o Jhon Dúran parece que não tem cá tempo para marcar golos normais e todos os golos parecem uma coleção de highlights? É com cada golaço. Estou muito curioso para ver a adaptação ao SL Benfica. Com boa atitude e estratégia pode ser um caso sério esta época.

For three hundred years, ships appeared on the horizon of coastal Europe, and villages learned to run. They were called Barbary corsairs, sailing out of ports like Algiers, Tunis, and Tripoli under the loose authority of the Ottoman Empire. From the 1500s into the 1800s, they raided the coasts of Italy, Spain, France, and Portugal, then pushed further, to Ireland, England, and even Iceland. Between one and one and a quarter million Europeans were captured and sold into slavery during this period. They kept coming back to the same places, year after year, for centuries. That wasn't random. Inside the Ottoman Empire, the slave markets had a hierarchy, and certain physical traits sat at the very top of it. Circassian women, taken from the Caucasus and sold north into Ottoman harems, were described by contemporary writers as having fair, light skin. They were the most expensive slaves in the empire, with some accounts placing their price as high as 500 pounds sterling. Harem records describe their pale complexions, light hair, and light-colored eyes, grey, green, or blue, as the standard of beauty the entire system was built around. European coastal villages had exactly those features in abundance. Fishermen in Cornwall. Farmers in Ireland. Families in Iceland. Ordinary people with fair skin and light hair, living within reach of ships that had learned, over generations, exactly what those features were worth in the markets back home. In 1631, corsairs came ashore at Baltimore, Ireland, in the middle of the night, and took 107 men, women, and children. Almost none of them ever returned. In Cornwall, the raids became so regular they were treated as a fact of coastal life. Mount's Bay in 1625. St Keverne in 1626. Looe through the 1630s. A single raid in 1645 took 240 people from one stretch of coastline. By the 1640s, England's Parliament estimated between three and five thousand English captives were being held in Algiers at any given time. In 1627, corsairs sailed as far as Iceland, a place so remote its people had never imagined danger could come from the sea. They took roughly four hundred people in a matter of days. Women were consistently valued higher than men. When England eventually sent a negotiator to ransom captives in Algiers, he paid an average of thirty pounds per man. Women cost more. The people taken were sorted the way any commodity is sorted, by what the market wanted most. Men went to galleys, quarries, and construction sites, worked until their bodies gave out. Women and children were sent into households, into domestic labor, and into the harem system that had built its entire reputation on fair skin and light features. Most were never ransomed. Most were never heard from again. Coastal villages across Italy and Spain were abandoned outright, left empty rather than rebuilt, because the raids never stopped long enough to make resettling worth the risk. The raids didn't stop because Europe pitied its coastal poor. They stopped because European and American naval powers eventually decided the cost of allowing it to continue outweighed the cost of stopping it. Combined naval campaigns through the early 1800s broke the power of the Barbary states one by one. France's invasion and annexation of Algeria in 1830 ended it for good. By then, entire stretches of coastline, from Ireland to Iceland, from Cornwall to Sicily, had spent three hundred years learning the same lesson. Fair skin was a commodity. And for three hundred years, someone was always willing to sail a very long way to collect it. #archaeohistories

@egodeathatparty @a_john Em nenhum momento mostrei o meu desrespeito pelos professores. Profissão que muito respeito e acho mal paga e mal tratada em Portugal. A noção de carga laboral e cansaço, posta acima de tantas outras profissões, é que não é justa. Nem correta, tão pouco. Simples.

@al_antdp O pib só cresce por 3 fatores: dívida (esgotada até 2014), demografia e produtividade. Está fácil de ver qual o caminho escolhido, abrir portas. Somando as cativaçoes, temos d facto um cenário complexo cuja fatura só mais tarde iremos ver em toda a sua extensão.

Marco Silva está muito insatisfeito com a falta de ação da estrutura no planeamento. Harry Wilson também recusou o Benfica. Passam treinadores, mas a inaptidão da estrutura mantém-se.

@RAC_pt @a_john Lol. A minha mãe foi professora. Não há mais nenhuma profissão que traga o trabalho para casa constantemente e trabalhe além do horário previsto sem ser pago. E mês de férias de agosto - só podem em agosto, mais nenhum mês. No início de setembro têm de se apresentar ao serviço.

António Silva foi a definição perfeita do designado 'one season wonder'. Eu próprio fui levado nessa corrente. A verdade é que, excluindo a época sob o comando de Schmidt, teve 3 temporadas paupérrimas. Não deixará saudades. Talvez seja a única posição onde teremos um upgrade.
