A fine evening was had at @unionjackclub for the 74th Annual Dinner with 59 in attendance. A good catch up with friends and former colleagues and some new faces attending.

@germanbunkers The factoid I love is that, within days of the site being captured, the Royal Army Pay Corps took over that bunker as their temporary bank for millions of French Francs, Belgian Francs, Dutch Guilders, Danish Florins and German Marks. 😄

This is Stp Douvres, Normandy and a critical Radar site for the Germans as the allies gained control of the skies. Here a L479 Anton bunker for night fighter control. It contained 'Seeburg-Tisch' a system used to plot night fighter and Allied aircraft interception, now a museum.
