I see this a lot with jobseekers. You spend months applying. Fixing your resume. Optimizing your LinkedIn. Posting consistently. Pitching. Learning new skills. Then you finally land the remote job and you DISAPPEAR. You stop posting and engaging. You literally abandon your personal brand. You go quiet until something happens. Maybe the contract ends or the company restructured. That’s when you finally remember you have a social media account and then you come back and start building your brand again from SCRATCH. This is a HUGE mistake. Your personal brand is not something you build only when you are job hunting. It is something you build continuously because the moment you stop showing up, you lose visibility and when you lose visibility, opportunities reduce. Keep building even after you land the job. Keep sharing your journey. Keep positioning yourself. So you are not starting from zero every time.
Bolaji Adebayo@Mobolajiea

For real, Why do creatives abandon building their brand when they finally get the gig they always wanted? I see that a lot. Any answer?

We’ve been receiving volunteer applications for @BuildWithIntern and what I’ve been seeing is so heartbreaking 💔 Sometimes the reason why you haven’t been called for an interview is not your skill, it’s how your resume is presenting your experience. So here are 3 clear signs your resume needs a revamp. 1. You are applying consistently but not getting interviews If you have submitted multiple applications and you are not even getting screening calls, your resume is likely not aligned with the roles you are targeting. This usually means your keywords, structure, or positioning needs improvement. 2. Your resume lists duties instead of achievements If your bullet points start with things like “responsible for”, “assisted with”, or “helped with” without showing results, you are not showing impact. Recruiters want to see what changed because of your work, not just what you were assigned to do. 3. You are using one resume for every job Each job description is different. If you are sending the same resume everywhere, your resume is missing key terms that ATS systems look for. Customizing your resume improves your chances of getting noticed. Your resume is not something you create once and forget. It should evolve as your experience grows and as the job market changes. Sometimes a few strategic updates can make a big difference in your results. Before you apply for your next job, you can either apply blindly and get rejected or know what your resume is missing so you can increase your chances of being invited for an interview. Use the Resume Analyzer on @remoteworkpadi and see how well your resume matches your target role. Try it here: remoteworkpadi.com

If you want a remote job in 2026, you need to understand this first. Remote work is becoming more competitive, not because there are no opportunities, but because more people are now interested in working remotely. So the strategy that worked a few years ago will not work the same way in 2026. Before, you could apply with a basic resume, send a few applications, and still get responses. Now remote companies are receiving applications from all over the world and that means you are not just competing with people in your city or your country. You are competing globally and when competition becomes global, your approach has to change. You need to start thinking beyond just applying, think about positioning. Positioning yourself as someone who understands remote work, someone who can communicate clearly and someone who can work independently. Remote companies are not just hiring skills, they are hiring people they can trust to deliver without constant supervision. This is why things like your online presence now matter more. Another thing to understand is that remote hiring is becoming more skills based and companies want to see proof. They want to see what you have done so you need to consistently update your portfolio and position yourself strategically. If you want a remote job in 2026, do not just focus only on sending applications. Focus on building relevant skills, showcasing your work and learning how remote teams operate. The people who will win in the remote job market are not just the most qualified, they are the most prepared. Shalom 💛

5 things NOT to say in an interview if you want to land the job Sometimes it’s not your skill that costs you the opportunity. It’s what you say during the interview. Here are five things I’ve seen candidates say that instantly reduce their chances. 1. “I just need any job right now” This makes it sound like you’re not genuinely interested in the role and employers want someone who actually wants to be there, not someone who is just desperate. 2. “I don’t have experience but I can learn” Learning is good, but you should still connect your past experience to the role. Focus on transferable skills instead of presenting yourself as completely inexperienced. 3. “I didn’t really research the company” Even if you didn’t, don’t admit it like this. It shows lack of preparation. Always take time to understand what the company does before the interview. 4. “My last job was terrible” Speaking negatively about your previous employer is a red flag. It can make you seem difficult to work with. Keep your answers professional and neutral. 5. “I don’t have any questions” This makes it look like you’re unserious. Asking thoughtful questions shows interest, curiosity and seriousness about the role. Interviews are not just about answering correctly. They are also about avoiding statements that weaken your positioning. So think before you speak, structure your responses and stay professional. Sometimes one sentence can change the outcome of the entire interview. If you have an interview coming up or you have been getting interviews but not converting them, book an interview prep session with me and let’s work through your answers, structure your stories properly and position you to actually land the role. I started @BuildWithIntern in October 2025. The goal was to help emerging talent gain real experience. In less than 7 weeks, we worked with 15 founders and placed 40 interns into real companies. They worked on actual tasks, collaborated with founders and built portfolios they could confidently talk about. And so far, 15 of those interns have been retained 💃 That means they didn’t just gain experience, they proved their value and stayed. I built BuildWithInterns: - To bridge the gap between learning and working. - To help people move from “I don’t have experience” to “Here’s what I’ve done.” - To give founders access to emerging talent they can actually work with. Now we’re ready for the next phase. Cycle 2 starts April 6th. If you’ve been waiting for an opportunity to gain real experience and build a strong portfolio, this is your sign. @BuildWithIntern is back. Get your portfolios ready!!! 💛

My client is an expert in her field but her resume wasn't showing that clearly. Here’s how I took her resume score from 62% to 82%, reflecting her expertise clearly in less than 30min. She’s a marketing professional based in the U.S. reached out to me. She has solid experience, a strong social media presence and a clear career direction. On the surface, everything looked right but she wasn’t getting the traction she expected when applying for roles. The problem wasn’t her skills. It was her resume. It didn’t clearly reflect her competence, and it wasn’t aligned with the specific roles she wanted. Like many professionals, her online presence showed expertise but her resume didn’t tell the same story. So I scanned her resume with @remoteworkpadi Resume Analyzer and checked her match score against the job description of a role she wanted to apply to. It came back at 62%. Her resume would have been tossed aside because it wasn’t fully aligned with the job description. I then optimized her resume, aligned it with the exact marketing role she was targeting, added the right keywords and ensured the language matched both her experience and her professional brand. After running it through the analyzer again, her score increased to 82%. Same experience. Better positioning. Stronger alignment. Sometimes the gap isn’t your skill. It’s how your resume communicates it. Before you apply for your next job, you can either apply blindly and get rejected or know what your resume is missing so you can increase your chances of being invited for an interview. Use the Resume Analyzer on @remoteworkpadi for free and see how well your resume matches your target role. Try it here: remoteworkpadi.com

A lot of people think paying for knowledge is a waste of time but what you’re actually paying for is ACCESS. Access to clarity. Access to direction. Access to someone who has already made the mistakes. If I had someone to guide me back then, I honestly believe I would have achieved even more, FASTER. Sometimes it is not about not knowing what to do. It is about not knowing where to start. If you want to land a remote job in 2026, start with @atcproacademy REMOTE WORK PROGRAM. Last year, @remoteworkpadi was nominated for Innovative Brand of the Year. For a platform that started with just two people, that meant a lot to us. You say you’ve been job hunting all week but if we check properly, what you actually did was: - Save a bunch of jobs - Open and close multiple job descriptions - Told yourself “I’ll apply later” - Tweaked your resume again - Watch videos on how to answer interview questions But no actual application submitted. Let me be honest with you. You are not stuck because you don’t want a remote job, you are stuck because the process feels like a lot. Too many requirements, options and pressure to “get it right”. So your brain chooses the easier tasks. The ones that feel productive but don’t really change anything and before you know it, the week is over. This is why I always say your job search needs to be structured. You need to wake up and know exactly what you are doing that day because at the end of the day, the people getting results are not the most motivated. They are the ones who are actually APPLYING.

Most people think product managers ONLY build products. When people hear the title product manager, they immediately assume you are the person designing the product, writing the code or building the features. But that is not really the job. Product managers do not build the product themselves. Engineers build the product and designers design the experience. The real role of a product manager is to understand problems and guide the team toward the right solution. A good product manager spends a lot of time asking questions. - What problem are we actually solving? - Who are we solving it for? - Is this problem important enough for users? - What is the simplest way to solve it? One of the biggest mistakes startups make is building things nobody asked for. Teams get excited about ideas and rush into development. They launch features that look impressive but do not actually solve a real problem. A product manager talks to users, studies user behavior, works with designers and engineers and makes sure the team is building something that truly creates value. Sometimes the job is even about saying NO. No to features that look interesting but do not solve a real problem. No to ideas that distract the team from the main goal. Building products is about building the right things so if you ever want to become a product manager, remember this👇 Your job is not just to build products, it is to understand people, problems and help your team build solutions that will be valuable to your users. I’ll be sharing more Product Management tips so follow for more! 💛

Your resume may be getting rejected for this reason. Many job seekers think the problem is that there are no jobs so they keep applying again and again, sometimes sending out 50-100 applications weekly or even more. But the real issue most times is not the number of applications. It is the resume itself. A lot of resumes are written like personal biographies instead of professional marketing documents. People list their responsibilities instead of impact. They write very generic statements that could apply to anyone and many times the resume does not even match the role they are applying for. For example, someone might write something like “Responsible for managing emails and supporting the team.” That statement does not tell a recruiter anything meaningful. What the recruiter really wants to see is the value you brought to the role. - Did you improve a process? - Did you help the team save time? - Did you increase efficiency? - Did you support customers and improve satisfaction? These are the kinds of things that stand out. Another mistake I see a lot is people sending the exact same resume to every job they apply for. Every role is different and every company is looking for something slightly different. Your resume should reflect the role you are applying for. The keywords in the job description should appear in your resume and the skills you highlight should align with what the company needs. Recruiters also spend very little time reviewing resumes. Sometimes less than ten seconds before deciding whether to keep reading or move on. So your resume needs to communicate 3 things very quickly. - What you do. - What you are good at. - And the results you have achieved. Think of your resume as your personal marketing document. It should clearly show the value you bring, not just the tasks you performed. When your resume starts telling the story of your impact, not just your responsibilities, the chances of getting interview invitations increase significantly. Please repost, someone might need this.
