Many of you have spotted some familiar faces in the Gables waterways! Manatees migrate to warmer waters, often gathering near shallow canals like this one by UM, where temperatures are more comfortable for them. Check them out, we are blessed to have them in our backyard!

We had a very productive trip to Tallahassee meeting with state legislators & advocating on behalf of the City. These meetings reinforced the importance of strong, collaborative relationships between the city & state leaders as we work to advance the City Beautiful’s priorities.

yesterday we opened the new Bark Park! The dog park at The Underline officially marks another major milestone for this once ambitious vision that is now fully coming to life. 10 years ago I sponsored the legislation to fund the Underline & we couldn’t be happier for our community

This morning marked an important milestone in our city’s history as we proudly re-signed our Sister City agreement with the Antigua Guatemala. I extend my sincere thanks to Mayor Juan Manuel Asturias and his delegation for the opportunity to collaborate throughout the weekend!

Last night, we kicked off the 5th season of the Music at McBride concert series, featuring the University of Miami’s Frost School of Music.  Beautiful weather, talented musicians and our community coming together to support the arts are what make our city so special.

Step back into Coral Gables history! On Jan 4 Gables Cinema will show a special screening of “Million Dollar Mermaid”. This 1952 classic is about Annette Kellerman, the famed “Venetian Mermaid”, who was brought to the Gables by George Merrick to help popularize our Venetian Pool.

It was a magical night at City Hall as we welcomed Santa and lit the holiday tree. Thank you to all the performers, vendors, and City staff for making this year’s event extra special! We invite everyone to embrace all the joy and happiness this season brings 🎄🎅 Merry Christmas!

Our newest landmark was officially welcomed in Giralda Plaza! This installation serves as a landing point for visitors and residents! Thank you to the Miami Realtors and the National Association of Realtors for this beautiful new addition to our City Beautiful.

It’s time! 🎄 What a way to kick off the holiday season. Shops at Merrick Park’s 22nd annual tree lighting ceremony was a success. Welcoming Santa to Coral Gables is something I look forward to each year! I wish you all a happy start to our holiday season in the City Beautiful.

Keep Coral Gables Beautiful! The City will be hosting a recycling drive-thru event on Nov 15 from 9 am – 12 pm in the parking lot behind City Hall.  I urge residents to take advantage of this great opportunity to responsibly dispose of electronic waste and hazardous materials.
