A Brexit based on lies & now he joins Nigel Farage in saying UK needs a referendum on ECHR membership If we want to avoid a dangerous a chain of events which could one day see Britain joining Russia & Belarus as the only European countries outside the ECHR we need to constantly call out this insane Drumbeat
Peter Stefanovic@PeterStefanovi2

Boris Johnson has crawled out of the woodwork to join Nigel Farage in saying the UK needs a referendum on ECHR membership If UK media is going to give him a platform to spout this boll**** it’s up to all of us to call it out. RT this if you agree

The rise of believing conspiracy pushed by right wing populists, is by design. They exacerbate underlying fears/bigotry by importing US Republican methods. People get thicker, disregard facts and become more susceptible to con artists. We used to laugh at Americans for this shit. People who are poor, uneducated, disillusioned or fearful are easily led into believing that another group is to blame. All you need to do is target the most deprived who need a quick and easy target to blame, then provide a scapegoat; be it an asylum seeker, refugee or even a British born person of colour. Race hate is rarely limited to one particular group, after all. Next, they create an echo chamber to con millions with psy ops/cyber ops like foreign troll farms to ramp up tensions and fears. Millions are poured into this. Replicate the message in the national press, normalise the constructed issue via broadcasters. Enter dodgy, treacherous self interested right wing populists who are happy to destabilise Britain for hedgefunders or autocrats from other countries, echo the sentiments pushed on social media, add a sprinkle of “golden age thinking” and nostalgia for an emotional pull to give the incorrect impression that ‘everything was better when most people in your town were white’ and voila… Millions of people duped into voting for the cause of the problem (which isn’t even real) by people that wrongly believe that they’re the solution. It’s clever and well executed, I’ll give them that, but it’s a multifaceted con job. Reform, much like the Republicans in the US, don’t target rich areas with good educational attainment for a reason, because they see those people as malleable and stupid, when often they’re forgotten, deprived and in need of help. Help which those politicians will never provide because they’ve driven by an unrelenting pursuit of power and money not public service. They don’t give a fuck about their targets, the poor constituencies, and because they don’t have anything beyond a sideline grip on power, they can continuously blame the government and appear to be rebellious saviours rallying against the elite, despite the fact they’re privately educated city boys - so clearly are the fucking elite. Meanwhile, the lucrative connections from being an elected MP boosts their income and profile whilst the town they claim to represent, suffers. Obviously. Their constituents are just a skull to step on, a route to money, donors and power. Those scumbags try to convince everyone that poor people are inherently racist, when in reality, racism is top down, not bottom up. Perpetrated by ultra rich opportunists with zero interest in Britains prosperity, who enragingly claim to be patriots. The way to solve this is to boost the deprived areas, improve growth, integration, educational attainment and critical thinking skills. I think the idea proposed by Labour to teach kids young about how to spot fake news and assess information online critically also plays a role in preventing this in future generations. People thinking critically, en masse, is the enemy of these con artists. The new government needs to take a lead out of Scotland’s book and change its rhetoric around immigration. Immigration is great for Britain, we have more vacancies than applications and it has historically always financially benefited us. Scotland has never shied away from promoting the obvious benefits of immigration and EU membership and that’s partly why they didn’t have race riots. Not the entire reason though, neither did many other areas. Ending the divisive culture wars, focusing on the upsides of people coming to work/live here and uniting communities will go a long way towards solving the division and manufactured hatred. Areas which are not struggling don’t face this, so the biggest fix is ending poverty and deprivation, boosting community cohesion, critical thinking skills and financial security.

France’s extraordinary election results provide an urgent, valuable lesson. Don’t concede ground to those who sow division and fear. Build a bold Left movement that offers an alternative of inclusion and hope. That is how you defeat the far right.

#Breathtaking Michael Gove & PPE contracts to 🔹Fashion firm Meller Designs with no PPE experience got bumper profits as a supplier, up from £144,000 in one year to a sudden £13 million 🔹Tory donor David Meller - Contracts worth £164 million were awarded without competition 🔹£9m of the PPE was UNUSABLE 🔹After a referral from Michael Gove. Meller had backed Gove's failed leadership bid in 2016 🔹Today it's been found Gove has failed to declare hospitality from David Meller I'm working with @GoodLawProject on the VIP Files bringing new information about these appalling deals

Feel like I’ve been waiting 20 years of my life to watch ‘Stop Making Sense’ at @tynesidecinema It happened, and, I wept like Adam Buxton at the shear perfection of it—I wept again at the humanity of people singing and dancing along. faroutmagazine.co.uk/jonathan-demme…

Sobering analysis suggests NHS backlog will rise to 8 million next summer after a decade of underinvestment in the NHS. In his latest back slapping video @RishiSunak boasts about cutting NHS waiting lists! They are at a record high! Why is UK media not tearing his video apart?

The British government has today borrowed £4bn for two years at an interest rate of 5.668% - which is, as the @ft points out, the highest interest rate is has had to pay for two-year money for almost 25 years. This is expensive money for a government whose debts are more than 100% of national income. And if the government is paying that, riskier borrowers are inevitably paying much more

We reckon @BLVKH3RO is one of the most exciting young Jamaican reggae artists out there. Superb in the studio, @royalalberthall, a brilliant performer. We caught up with him after his act supporting our 45th anniversary gig at @RoyalAlbertHall last week.
