@gotrice2024 if there's a signed contract, both sides are bound by it. Demolishing completed work could expose the company to liability. Their safer option is a mechanic’s lien or legal action for payment.

This man hired this company to redo the concrete in his back patio area. They agreed on a price and signed a contract. The company was almost done when the customer claimed that they did it wrong, the company then said they would demolish it if he wouldn’t or couldn’t pay. The customer then threatens to call the police if they remove or damage the work already done even though he hasn’t paid them a dime yet. The company at this point has paid for all materials. Since he won’t pay them, are they free to do what they want including demolishing the work they did?
