The article features the Older Persons Walking and Transit Audit (OPWATA), a novel tool created to assess the presence of age-friendly features during transit commutes, including at transit stops and on first and last mile walking routes. tinyurl.com/5ax8cmuu

New article in Applied Geography! "Aging in place, stranded in space: An analysis of health care access via public transportation in Elliot Lake" evaluates the age-friendliness of public transit when accessing health care facilities in Canada's most severely shrinking city.

Samantha Depatie is a fiddle player from North Bay, Ontario. While I was in the Yukon, she reached out to me to collaborate. When I visited North Bay (Ontario), we were finally able to make it happen. We blended her Celtic fiddle music with my Punjabi Bhangra dance on the shores of the beautiful Lake Nipissing. As we synched our arts, many birds watched us, and the energy of the lake water added an extra element to our collaboration. By combining dance and music from two cultures, our goal is to build more cross-cultural bridges and remind people that we all belong to one race called "humanity.” YouTube Link: youtu.be/06czLwn2olM
