The lodge has finished yet again for the summer recess after raising bro Pete last thursday. From being an upper age rated membership this has now reduced to an average of 56 years. Our master elect will have a younger set of new officers from October. We wish him and them well.

A very entertaining meeting took place last thursday with W Bro Tony Harvey giving his talk " Back to the Future, Freemasonry from 1976 - 2076". Remembering what the lodge was like in the 70s and looking at what might be expected if we don't adapt and evolve. Thought provoking !

Just a reminder brethren that at our meeting next Thursday, 9th April we will be hosting W Bro Tony Harvey PJGD who will be delivering a paper entitled "Back to the future, Freemasonry from 1976 to 2076 ". An intriguing subject which will, no doubt, prove to be thought provoking.

A very Happy St Patrick's Day to all of our brethren in Bath and beyond. To those particularly in St Patrick's Lodge No 295 and Lodge Glittering Star No 322, the only two Irish lodges with travelling warrants since 1758 and 1759, we say Slainte !

The lodge enjoyed a very successful initiation ceremony last thursday when some members of St Vincent's lodge, Bristol, attended. Our SW gave the 1st Degree charge in an exemplary manner along with a good performance from all officers.

As the New Year starts, let's build a better, stronger life, not forgetting our Masonic principles both in side and out of the lodge. Above all, be kind to all in a world of turbulence and unrest.

A memorable double raising last night. The WM performed, admirably assisted by his officers. Guests were there from Preston, Bristol, Guildford and locally. With eight GL certificates soon to present and a new Masonic veteran, we have youth and experience to carry us forward

An impressive first ceremony for our recently installed WM. A double raising carried out in fine fashion. This was after a presentation by W Bro Russell Goodland APGM, who informed those attending about the details of our upcoming Somerset Festival 2031.

Although a late posting, the Installation meeting held on 2nd October went extremely well with a Craft APGM and Grand Superintendent of AMD from South Wales in attendance. The light blues are taking up more offices so all is well for the future.

Why does the Worshipful Master say to the Initiate "Is it your desire to become a subscribing member of this lodge ?" Answer: Because in the early days some Masons were not always resident in Bath and had an existence travelling around. Fees may have been paid but not membership.
