They don’t call it Iceberg Alley for nothing! As the ‘bergs roll in, it’s a great time to get out enjoy the view… from a safe distance, of course. Icebergs can be unstable and unpredictable, sometimes rolling or breaking apart without warning. It can be a very dangerous situation for anyone in the water nearby. If you’re viewing from a vessel on the water, be sure it’s from a safe distance and choose a reputable operator who knows the area well. Prefer to spot them from shore? Stay at least 100 metres back, obey all signage and come prepared. Shorelines and rocks can be slippery. Proper footwear, warm clothing and being aware of your surroundings can help keep your visit safe.
