This drill doesn’t look like much, but it means the world to me. It was created over a decade+ of work. Circa 2012 my goal was to find the best way I could teach the pitching delivery. I’ve tried many philosophies & gadgets in both the team & private training setting. I studied how other parts of the world teach pitching…I went down every rabbit hole available, nothing made sense. So I began building my own methodology… Then in year 12 it all finally clicked. I closed in on a drill to teach the feeling of foot down, then throw… No tool comes close to the freedom of movement a connection ball offers. Its adaptability from pitcher to pitcher is unmatched. This drill teaches an incredibly difficult concept. WHEN to step on the gas pedal. It requires patience in the delivery. Timing is everything in pitching, just like life. Moral of the story, if you don’t like how it floats, build your own boat 🚤
