Only 7️⃣ days to go until our 2nd annual @RCSDsch5 Fall Family Literacy Fest! Families will enjoy literacy themed activities and learn about how to support literacy skills at home! We’ll end the night with a sweet treat and a special surprise! @RCSDNYS @drpeluso @white_lajuan

The clouds this week have been frightful but the weather was so delightful for our first grade to visit @stokoefarms on Thursday! A wagon ride to the pumpkin patch, visiting the animals, playground time and a picnic lunch! What a day! @RCSDsch5 @RCSDNYS @drpeluso @white_lajuan

The @RCSDsch5 retreat may be in the books but our work is just beginning! Principal Lee modeled living out our SIP commitments daily by starting each day with a circle! Commitment starts with each of us and we are ready for another year of doing thing the bobcat way! @RCSDNYS

Watching our @RCSDsch5 Bobcats grow from September to June and across their academic careers is one of our very favorite things! @RCSDNYS

This is Mohamed our student body President and ⚽️ captain. He came to orientation ready to show Coach Yonas the starting line up he’s been thinking up! If you ask @RCSDsch5 our why it’s our amazing students! They make us proud in and out of the classroom EVERY day! @RCSDNYS

Our @rcsdsch5 middle school orientation was a chance for our families to hear from Principal Lee and Chief @white_lajuan and learn about expectations, schedules and extracurricular opportunities! Students also got their locker information and met their teachers! @RCSDNYS

Another Popsicles with the Principals is in the books for our @rcsdsch5 Prek to sixth grade families! This year families got a chance to meet Principal Lee, hear PTO updates from Ms. Leone, pick a new backpack and enjoy a sweet treat! @RCSDNYS @white_lajuan

To start the second day of the @rcsdsch5 retreat we engaged in discussion around the NYS culturally responsive-sustaining framework! Staff discussed ways big, small and, importantly, consistently that we can ensure every student feels welcome, affirmed and valued! @RCSDNYS

For the afternoon, the @rcsdsch5 retreat agenda focused on our literacy commitment! Staff engaged in collaborative discussion around supporting writing and vocabulary skills! Staff identified strategies and created rubrics for work sample analysis! @RCSDNYS @white_lajuan

With September approaching, we are excited to get fall sports rolling @RCSDsch5! Registration for fall sports begins August 11th on the website (hello.familyid.com). All students wishing to play a fall sports must have an updated physical on file! @HammondTerrilyn
