Congratulations to LHP Ixan Henderson on being named Texas League Pitcher of the Year!
Henderson, 23, finished the year 9-7 with a 2.59 ERA, 1.14 WHIP, .210 BAA & 134 SO across 132.0 IP (25 GS); ranking among the Top 4 in all those categories, including 1st in ERA & BAA.
He becomes the 3rd #STLCards minor leaguer to be honored as the Texas League's top pitcher since 2005 and the 2nd in as many seasons.
Congratulations to INF JJ Wetherholt on being named the Texas League's Most Valuable Player!
Wetherholt, 23, slashed .300/.425/.466 with 22 XBH, 34 RBI, 39 R & 14 SB in 62 games played before being promoted to Triple-A Memphis on July 7; leading the league in both OBP and OPS at that time.
He becomes the 4th consecutive #STLCards minor leaguer to earn Texas League MVP honors and the 7th overall.
