London Fire Brigade Football Club
Full time @ESFL20 @serveandprotect @hmpkent_essexfc 1 - 2 @LFBfootballclub Goals: C Cain, K Barry Man of the match: Chris Cain In a tightly contested Last 16 fixture, London Fire Brigade secured a hard-fought 2–1 victory over Kent Prison Service in a game that was competitive throughout and played in excellent spirit by both sides. Kent Prison Service started the stronger of the two teams and controlled much of the early play, forcing London back into their own half for long periods. London struggled at times to clear their lines effectively, which invited unnecessary pressure. However, despite Kent’s territorial advantage, London defended resolutely and limited their opponents to very few clear cut chances. The second half saw a noticeable shift in momentum, with London starting on the front foot and showing greater intent in possession. Our brighter start paid off early in the half when we found the breakthrough to take a 1–0 lead. London continued to press and maintained control for spells, but were unable to create the clear opportunity needed to extend their advantage. A brief lapse in concentration allowed Kent Prison Service back into the game, as they capitalised to level the score at 1–1, setting up a tense final period. The match became increasingly competitive, with both teams fully committed in the challenge but always within the spirit of the game. London eventually found the decisive moment, producing a superb diagonal pass that unlocked the Kent defence and led to the goal that restored the lead at 2–1. Kent pushed forward in search of another equaliser and applied late pressure, but London remained disciplined defensively and managed the closing stages well to see the game out and secure their place in the next round. Overall, it was a closely fought cup tie that could have gone either way, with London showing resilience under pressure and taking their key moments when it mattered most. @firefighters999 @WalkandTalk999 @Awards_FC_ @SKkits2 @kordsport @SportsafeUK @bogie_david @NonLeagueCrowd @trailgroupltd @Alphatracksyst @PlumisAutomist @serveandprotect
