@pgshaftman It depends on the way you look at it. It all trickles down from top to bottom. Unfortunately, the effects are not immediate. The reason you believe we have unskilled workers is because of the actions of the government in the time past, say early 90s to early 20s. The effects

@RDChessHUB You are absolutely right and the government need to task them to wake up to their responsibility and seriously, sometimes I do wonder if this people understand industrialization and an nation building. They can't just continue to hold Nigerian government and students at ransom.

An Open Letter to the President, the Federal Government, and the Ministry of Education Dear Mr. President, the Federal Government of Nigeria, and the Ministry of Education, Nigeria stands at a critical point in its history. Our nation is blessed with millions of talented young people, brilliant professors, researchers, engineers, scientists, and innovators spread across our universities and institutions. Yet, despite this massive intellectual potential, many of our industries remain weak, abandoned, or heavily dependent on foreign solutions. It is time for Nigeria to begin tasking its universities with solving real national problems. Our universities should not exist only to award certificates, publish papers, and graduate students into unemployment. They must become centers of innovation, industrial development, engineering solutions, and technological advancement. Nations that dominate the world today achieved greatness because they connected education directly to national development. The government must begin creating national research and industrial challenges for universities and polytechnics. Engineering departments should be challenged to design and improve local machines, manufacturing systems, energy solutions, transportation systems, agricultural equipment, and technological products that can revive our economy. Science and technology institutions should work directly with industries and government agencies to develop homegrown solutions for power generation, steel production, aviation, defense technology, healthcare equipment, transportation, and digital infrastructure. Nigeria cannot continue importing almost everything while our brightest minds remain underutilized. If properly funded, challenged, and supported, Nigerian students and researchers can build solutions capable of transforming Africa. We must move from being consumers of foreign innovation to creators of our own technologies and industries. The future of Nigeria will not be built by politics alone. It will be built by knowledge, engineering, innovation, industrialization, and the courage to believe in local talent. I sincerely hope the government, educational authorities, and policymakers will take this seriously and begin a new era where Nigerian universities become active drivers of national development. May Nigeria rise beyond dependency and become a nation known for innovation, production, and technological excellence. @officialABAT @aonanuga1956 @DrTunjiAlausa @NigEducation @Suwaiba_said Signed, P.G Shaftman
