My 3rd étude is focused on large chords, both soft and louder dynamics; this étude was dedicated to the late Joseph Kalichstein,an extraordinary artist who played the piano with such a wonderfully rich sound.
Etude 2 employs the left hand in the lower region of the piano, while the right hand plucks strings inside the piano w/ a guitar pick. This 2nd & most unusual etude, is also the most non-western in its overall sound, w/ hints of Persian music evoking my own ancestral heritage.
The first etude on my new album with Stefano Greco. Classical Concert Pianist is the "Five-Finger Arpeggios". Stefano showcases his dexerity incredibly.

Such an incredible experience yesterday getting to work with #MichaelBoriskin, #SusanGraham, and Music from @CoplandHouse as we rehearsed “A Standing Witness” for last night’s concert at the @TanglewoodMA Music Festival.
Composer Richard Danielpour (@RDanielpour) recently wrote a piece in honor of those affected by the pandemic. On today's Performance Today show, pianist Simone Dinnerstein (@sdinnerstein) plays Richard Danielpour's ‘An American Mosaic.’

Responsible education does not mean withholding information or literature from students. I wrote "Margaret Garner" to help bring truths into the light, not shy away from them because it was easier.
