@senz497 So sorry to hear this but props to you for having the courage to make the right decision for yourself. Its a tough world out there but u dont need to compromise urself to live in it. Proud of you!
@theworkfluss@P4t2016@ithinkwellHugh@ElgarPublishing I love this so much. You dont know what it means to see this declared out in the open when im 32 and my anxiety keeps talking me out of even trying to apply.

My advice: just enjoy it. 😁
@nscscience@ithinkwellHugh Im 32 and my anxiety keeps talking myself out of it thinking its too late and im not qualified enough. Inspiring to see your achievement!
Okay, friendos, I'm going on a trip to Edinburgh in June, and it'll be my first time in Scotland (only been to England/Ireland thus far!).
What are the absolute must sees/dos in and out of the city? I'll have about a week of free time to tour.
@OxfordBiology So inspiring to see u following ur passion in science after an unconventional journey.i did my undergrad in bio but veered off the path, but now trying to get back into sci/phd. What advice would you give to someone trying to re-enter academia with weird gaps? Feel free to DM!
Let me know if you have any questions! My path is an unusual one and I have dropped myself in at the deep end a number of times, what would you like to know about it? Be sure to check out the OxfordBiology instagram today too ...

Good morning everyone! My name is Bryony (
@bryonyblades) and I'm going to be taking over the Oxford Biology Instagram and Twitter for today. I'll be talking about my journey into biology, my research, and DPhil life. 1/6
To battle my constant #anxiety &feelings of inadequacy, setting myself a new #mentalhealthchallenge to tweet one good thing everyday. Todays #onegoodthing: i just found out that a kid i used to tutor who struggled with maths is now in his final year of uni studying maths&com sci
@RDubla I feel you on this one! My grandmother always used to say, "Let them be the ones to say no." I try to embody that spirit, bit it's hard. One practical thing I have started doing is celebrating the submission or the application instead of the outcome.
@darwin_sodhi Im sorry you had to take this decision but well done for having the strength to realize the need to take care of yourself! Many people follow different paths& it may not feel like it but take it as an exciting juncture to follow new dreams! Wish you all the best!
Officially leaving my PhD. This has been one of the hardest decisions I had had to make in my life. I am grateful for all that I have learnt and the people I have met. For now it’s time to process this loss and look inward to find what is next for me.
