UFC Fight Night: Della Maddalena vs. Prates Jacob Malkoun vs. Gerald Meerschaert MY PREDICTION -Gerald Meerschaert Submission Only Moneyline (If Decision or KO/TKO/DQ No Action) (+500) -I’m taking Gerald Meerschaert Submission Only (If Decision or KO/TKO/DQ No Action) at plus money against Jacob Malkoun in their UFC Perth middleweight fight. Malkoun is the big favorite with strong wrestling and cardio, but he has shown nothing in terms of a submission game, he’s attempted 5 submissions in his pro career and successfully landed zero of them. Meanwhile, GM3 is a submission machine with 29 career subs (78% of his wins) and still holds the UFC middleweight record for most submission victories. He’s submitted elite grapplers plenty of times and only really got caught against top-level guys like Kyle Daukaus and Reinier de Ridder. At 6'1" with a 77" reach, the crafty veteran can bait Malkoun into scrambles, hunt for guillotines, arm triangles, or rear-naked chokes once things hit the mat. I don’t trust Malkoun to finish him on the ground, and GM3’s experience makes this a perfect spot for a sneaky sub. I’m locking in Gerald Meerschaert Submission Only.

UFC Fight Night: Della Maddalena vs. Prates Jack Della Maddalena vs. Carlos Prates MY PREDICTION -Carlos Prates ML (-118) -I believe Carlos Prates is going to defeat Jack Della Maddalena in the UFC Perth main event. The Brazilian Nightmare is riding serious momentum after his devastating knockouts of Leon Edwards and Geoff Neal, and I love how his 78-inch reach towers over JDM’s 73 inches while his lethal Muay Thai arsenal of spinning elbows, flying knees, powerful kicks, and explosive forward pressure creates chaos in every exchange. Although the Australian hometown favorite brings sharp boxing, relentless pressure, and real durability, I think Prates’ superior length, athleticism, and one-punch finishing instinct will let him disrupt JDM’s rhythm and pull away as the five-round fight opens up. I’m expecting fireworks early, with Prates landing a highlight-reel stoppage or dominating late for the clear win. I’m picking Carlos Prates by KO/TKO or decision.

UFC Fight Night: Della Maddalena vs. Prates Beneil Dariush vs. Quillan Salkilld MY PREDICTION -Beneil Dariush Decision Only Moneyline (If Finish No Action) (+125) -I’m taking Beneil Dariush Decision Only (If Finish No Action) against Quillan Salkilld in the UFC Perth co-main event. Salkilld is young, explosive, and carries legitimate finishing power that makes him a real threat, so at 36 years old I fully admit the crafty vet Dariush has shown finishing vulnerabilities and could get knocked out early. What scares me is that Quillan went the distance with Yaniel, proving he doesn’t finish everyone, and this is only a three-round fight which gives Dariush less time but still favors his veteran IQ. I’m not gonna take Quillan at -450 because that price is way too short for a dangerous veteran like Dariush. If the crafty vet survives the first round or two, his grappling and fight IQ let him slow it down and grind out the win. I’m locking in Dariush Decision Only at plus money.

UFC Fight Night: Della Maddalena vs. Prates Tim Elliott vs. Steve Erceg MY PREDICTION -Tim Elliott +3.5 (-135) -I’m taking Tim Elliott +3.5 on the scorecards against Steve Erceg in their UFC Perth flyweight fight. Erceg is the younger hometown favorite with solid skills and momentum in front of the roaring Perth crowd, but “The Zombie” Elliott is a 39-year-old veteran with 35+ fights of experience, ridiculous durability, and the ability to make every fight chaotic and competitive. Tim’s constant forward pressure, wrestling entries, unorthodox southpaw striking, and high pace have frustrated much better fighters than Erceg in the past. Even on his worst nights, Elliott rarely gets completely dominated, he’s tough to finish and almost always steals at least one round with activity or grappling. I don’t see Erceg running away with a 30-27 sweep against this crafty, battle-tested veteran. I’m locking in Tim Elliott +3.5 on the scorecards. This bet cashes as long as it’s not a total blowout.

UFC Fight Night: Della Maddalena vs. Prates Marwan Rahiki vs. Ollie Schmid MY PREDICTION -STAY AWAY -I'm staying completely away from betting on Marwan Rahiki vs Ollie Schmid because there's just too much we don't know. Rahiki is young, 8-0 with finishes, but has very little experience against real UFC-level guys. Schmid is a short-notice debutant with flashy power but a thin record and two losses already. Both fighters have tiny sample sizes, unknown cardio under UFC pressure, and we've barely seen them tested. This short-notice striker vs striker matchup screams chaos and variance. I'm watching and learning instead of risking money on guesswork.

UFC Fight Night: Della Maddalena vs. Prates Shamil Gaziev vs. Brando Peričić MY PREDICTION -Shamil Gaziev ML (+110) -I’m backing Shamil Gaziev to win against Brando Peričić in the UFC Perth heavyweight bout. The Dagestani veteran brings serious experience with a 14-2 record, elite power (9 KO/TKO wins), and proven durability, he’s gone the distance with tough guys like Don’tale Mayes and has nine first-round finishes in his career. At 6'4" with an 78" reach, Gaziev can use his wrestling base, heavy hands, and forward pressure to close distance on the taller but less experienced Peričić, whose entire 6-1 record is built on quick first-round finishes against lower-level competition. Brando “The Balkan Bear” is explosive and trains at City Kickboxing, but his gas tank is completely unproven beyond six minutes and he’s stepping up massively in competition on short notice in front of his home crowd. I see Gaziev weathering any early storm, then taking over with grappling and power in the later rounds or finding a finish once Peričić slows down. I’m picking Shamil Gaziev by decision or late TKO.

UFC Fight Night: Della Maddalena vs. Prates Tai Tuivasa vs. Louie Sutherland MY PREDICTION -Tai Tuivasa ML (-218) -I’m backing Tai Tuivasa to win against Louie Sutherland in the UFC Perth heavyweight opener. The Perth crowd is going to be electric for “Bam Bam,” and fighting at home on short notice for his opponent gives Tai the perfect stage to snap this brutal six-fight losing streak. Tuivasa still carries legitimate one-punch knockout power with 13 career KO/TKO wins, and at heavyweight one clean shot can end the night, especially against a guy like Sutherland who’s 0-2 in the UFC and has been finished quickly in both appearances. Louie is tough and aggressive with decent size, but he’s stepping in on short notice against a veteran who knows how to throw bombs in front of a roaring Australian audience. I see Tai weathering any early pressure, then landing something heavy to drop Sutherland and get the finish. I’m picking Tai Tuivasa by KO/TKO in round 1 or 2.

UFC Fight Night: Della Maddalena vs. Prates Cam Rowston vs. Robert Bryczek MY PREDICTION -Robert Bryczek +3.5 (-105) -I’m taking Robert Bryczek +3.5 on the scorecards against Cam Rowston in their UFC Perth middleweight fight. Rowston is the bigger, younger prospect at 6'3" with a 78" reach, rolling off a six-fight win streak and training at City Kickboxing with strong momentum in front of the home crowd. But Bryczek is a battle-tested 35-year-old veteran with 18 wins, including 12 knockouts and serious power in his hands. The Polish fighter has shown he can eat shots, push a high pace, and make fights ugly with forward pressure and boxing. Even if Rowston is the better overall athlete and lands the cleaner volume, I don’t see him completely running away with every round against a durable veteran who’s hard to finish. I’m locking in Bryczek +3.5 on the scorecards. This bet wins as long as it doesn’t go to a lopsided 30-27 or worse for Rowston.

UFC Fight Night: Della Maddalena vs. Prates Junior Tafa vs. Kevin Christian MY PREDICTION -Kevin Christian +3.5 (+130) -I’m taking Kevin Christian +3.5 on the scorecards against Junior Tafa in their UFC Perth light heavyweight prelim. Tafa is the dangerous power puncher with six straight knockouts in his wins and legitimate one-shot finishing ability, especially in front of the home crowd. But Kevin Christian stands 6'7" with an 80-inch reach, giving him a massive height and length advantage over the 6'3" Tafa. The Brazilian veteran is a submission specialist (5 career subs) who can make fights ugly with his long jab, clinch work, and grappling when he gets close. Even if Tafa lands the heavier shots and controls most of the action, I don’t see him running away with every single round against a tall, durable 6'7" guy who’s hard to put away cleanly. I’m locking in Kevin Christian +3.5 on the scorecards. This bet cashes unless Tafa gets a dominant 30-27 sweep or better.

UFC Fight Night: Della Maddalena vs. Prates Colby Thicknesse vs. Vince Morales MY PREDICTION -Colby Thicknesse ML (-125) -I’m backing Colby Thicknesse to win against Vince Morales in their UFC Perth bantamweight prelim. The 26-year-old Australian “Slickness” is 8-1 overall and already looks like a future contender, coming off a solid unanimous decision win in his last UFC appearance with sharp boxing, good movement, and well-rounded skills. Fighting in front of a roaring home crowd in Perth is going to give him an extra gear, plus he’s younger, fresher, and on the rise while Morales is 35 and riding a three-fight losing streak. Vince “Vandetta” is a tough veteran with power and experience, but he’s been struggling lately and absorbs a lot of damage. I see Thicknesse using his speed, slick striking, and hometown energy to outwork Morales over three rounds and take a clear decision. I’m picking Colby Thicknesse by unanimous decision.

UFC Fight Night: Della Maddalena vs. Prates Wes Schultz vs. Ben Johnston MY PREDICTION -Ben Johnston ML (-135) -I believe Ben Johnston is going to beat Wes Schultz this weekend in Perth because his 6'4" frame and Muay Thai world champion striking give him a massive range advantage that Schultz just can't handle. I've seen Johnston stuff takedowns and counter with knees and elbows in the clinch, and that's exactly where Schultz gets in trouble. Coming off a bad UFC debut loss, Schultz looks one-dimensional and hittable, while Ben is on a four-fight win streak with finishes and real fight IQ from coaching. I trust Johnston's Brazilian BJJ training to neutralize any early wrestling attempts and turn them into his own submissions. Fighting at home in Australia with the crowd behind him is going to give Ben that extra fire, especially at 35 when he's smarter and more composed than ever. Schultz has been finished multiple times by aggressive strikers, and I don't see him surviving Johnston's volume and power late in the fight. Overall, Ben is the more complete mixed martial artist here and should win by decision or late stoppage. I'm riding with Johnston all the way on this one.

UFC Fight Night: Della Maddalena vs. Prates Jonathan Micallef vs. Themba Gorimbo MY PREDICTION -Jonathan Micallef ML (-245) -I’m backing Jonathan Micallef to win against Themba Gorimbo in their UFC Perth welterweight prelim. The 27-year-old Australian “Captain” is 9-1, riding a four-fight win streak with sharp southpaw boxing, slick movement, and dangerous submission skills (4 career subs, including a recent RNC over Oban Elliott). Fighting at home in front of a loud Perth crowd is going to give him a massive boost, plus he’s younger, faster, and on the rise while Gorimbo is 35 and coming off back-to-back losses. Mamba is tough with good wrestling and experience, but he’s been finished multiple times and has looked flat lately. I see Micallef using his reach, pace, and finishing ability to outstrike or submit Gorimbo. I’m picking Jonathan Micallef by decision or submission.

UFC Fight Night: Della Maddalena vs. Prates Kody Steele vs. Dom Mar Fan MY PREDICTION -Dom Mar Fan +3.5 (-135) -I’m taking Dom Mar Fan +3.5 on the scorecards against Kody Steele in their UFC Perth lightweight prelim. Steele is the American prospect coming in as a favorite with solid grappling and power, but Dom “Street Buddha” is the 26-year-old Australian on a five-fight win streak with Road to UFC hardware, sharp volume striking, and well-rounded skills. At 5'11" with a 75" reach, Dom holds a clear 4-inch height and reach advantage over the shorter 5'9" Steele, which should help him stuff takedowns and land cleaner shots at range. Even if Steele pushes the pace or wins a couple of rounds with wrestling, I don’t see him completely dominating or running away with every round against a durable, high-volume fighter who’s hard to finish and thrives in front of a roaring home crowd in Perth. Dom’s youth, experience edge, and ability to make fights competitive should keep this close enough on the cards. I’m locking in Dom Mar Fan +3.5 on the scorecards. This bet cashes unless Steele gets a dominant 30-27 sweep or better.

UFC Fight Night: Sterling vs. Zalal Talita Alencar vs. Julia Polastri MY PREDICTION -Julia Polastri ML (-230) -Julia Polastri has a strong case to defeat Talita Alencar in their women’s strawweight bout. The 28-year-old Brazilian “Psycho” (14-5) is the more experienced fighter with double the pro bouts, solid striking volume, heavy hands, and a recent third-round TKO over former title challenger Karolina Kowalkiewicz that showcased her power and finishing ability. Polastri’s forward pressure, durability (never finished in 19 fights), and serviceable grappling should allow her to stuff or survive Alencar’s takedowns while outstriking her at range and in the clinch. Alencar (7-1-1) is a dangerous submission specialist coming off two wins, but at 35 she faces a significant step up in competition against a younger, more battle-tested opponent with superior reach and Octagon experience. Polastri’s fight IQ, pace, and ability to keep fights competitive on the feet position her to pull away for a clear decision or late stoppage.
