Main panel reports detailing how the REF assessment was carried out and providing an overview of the panels’ observations have now been published at ref.ac.uk

The framework enabled the diversity in research to be recognised, and highlighted how research is benefiting society. The contribution of those making the submissions and our expert panels, through these unprecedented times, has allowed us to deliver a rigorous set of results.

Today we, on behalf of our partners in @ResEngland, @ScotFundCouncil, @HEFCW and @Economy_NI, publish the results of the UK-wide assessment of university research. ref.ac.uk REF 2021 has identified a substantial proportion of world-leading research across the UK.

Two days to go until we can share with you the outcomes of REF 2021. You’ll be able to see the #REFResults on ref.ac.uk from 12 May.

REF is carried out by the UK HE funding bodies ● Research England ● Scottish Funding Council ● Higher Education Funding Council for Wales ● Department for the Economy, Northern Ireland and managed by the REF team at Research England, and a funders' steering group.
