On this day in the year of our Lord 1120, Jordan II of Capua was annointed as the Prince of Capua. Jordan was the grandson of Richard Drengot who arrived in Southern Italy with 40 Norman knights in 1045.

On this day in the year of our Lord 1035, William the Bastard became Duke of Normandy aged just seven years old. He would go on to become the greatest Norman in history, defeating the Kings of France and England in battle and conquering the latter's kingdom.
