@JimNotBob @paulbudford It was weird. I can remember going down, sliding into the oncoming lane and thinking fuck I’m done for. Next thing I’m in a ditch minus half my skin and uniform (I was on my way to work) and the bike is in two pieces under the engine block of the Volvo.

@paulbudford @JimNotBob A copper got in the 🚑 suggesting I was lying about my speed even though I had witnesses. Worst was my wife drove past doing the school run but didn’t believe it was me until she saw 10 missed calls on her phone 15 mins later. She thought I was a goner.

@Yorkshirebandit If I only watched from the second she got out of the car, I’d agree. I can’t help but notice though that the biker goes to undertake her before she sees him, shits her pants then moves across into the right hand lane, where said biker already is. #1 is valid. He didn’t #ridesafe

@paulbudford @JimNotBob I came off my ZX9R into oncoming traffic as I exited a roundabout in Winchester back in 2009. Diesel everywhere to the point where even the paramedics struggled to walk on the road without slipping. Police knew it was there but hadn’t put warning signs out. The Volvo 850 won!

Contentious perhaps. Some might say ironic. But nevertheless, I tend to think that if you want to connect a mobile phone to your bike dash, especially when it’s an ‘adventure’ bike, you’re kind of missing the point.

Where did the society I grew up in go? The one where folk just got on with their lives and took pleasure in seeing others enjoying theirs, regardless of whether they shared their enthusiasm for what they were doing or not. Worlds serious enough ffs. Put the pitch forks away.

@AnimeNera Different bikes/geezers I reckon. That last bit might not even gen either if I’m honest. Trauma just isn’t that tidy... Ever. Especially when the resulting scene’s as fucked up as that. 🤔 It deffo sends a message though.

1st day in the new job today. Bit of a culture shock, but I think I’m going to enjoy this next chapter... Especially once March arrives and I’m back on the bike on a weekend again.
