In 2022, a shocking crime happened in Rohtas district, Bihar! A gang arrived in a village pretending to be officials from the Irrigation Department. They brought JCB machines and gas cutters and told villagers that the old iron bridge had to be dismantled on government orders. Since the bridge was rarely used, villagers believed them. Some villagers even helped them cut the bridge and load the iron onto trucks. Over the next 2–3 days, the gang dismantled the entire 500-tonne iron bridge and sold the metal as scrap. Later, officials confirmed there was no government order at all! By then, the gang had already taken away the entire bridge and sold it as scrap.
