Aang moved like Korra for a second and the worst that happened was a temple falling on Republic City. Think about that for a second before you realize he didn't need help from an 11yr old Jinora to solve it too.

@RGangstalicious No avatar is perfect. They all made mistakes. We see Aang make plenty of mistakes. Running away(100 years), not taking his role seriously in the beginning, choosing katara over achieving the avatar state, he was killed, refusing to kill ozai. Worked out but could have been bad.

It was lightning in a bottle. Honestly, they seemed to have done quite a bit of research into various cultures for the original show to try and depict (fantasized) versions of them accurately and as more than just aesthetic but everything afterwards was purely aesthetic.

"One team member for each element + non-bending" seems to be the writers' logic for excluding her, but that was never a rule.
Kuruk's team had 2 firebenders (Hei-Ran & Nyahitha), Kyoshi's had 4 earthbenders (herself, Lek, Lao Ge & Wong) & Aang's had 2 non-benders (Sokka & Suki).

@hayleyafterriot By then there’s not much use for it tho. Korra and Tenzin wouldn’t have reason to do it. The airbenders were new so them not being able to atp makes sense but then fast forward they get the wing suits. It’s great for traversal but obsolete come Korra’s time due to tech advancing

It’s safe to say that aang’s ability to tether to another airbender and fly is an ability only Aang can use.
I’m sure Aang tried to teach tenzin and if it was an easily accessible ability then the air nomads of Korra’s time would not need wing suits.

@DiviBeats Did you watch ATLA with your butt or sth ? The air sphere definitely wasn't his invention but turning it into a scooter for long distance or vertical travel is shown to be Aang's invention and it earns his tattoos on top of teaching it to other kids like him
