The South Carolina General Assembly has addressed a long-standing wrong by passing H. 3858, cutting the highest boat property taxes in the country, ending the double taxation of outboard engines through a one boat, one bill system, and saving South Carolina taxpayers more than $40 million. This important issue impacts hundreds of thousands of South Carolinians who enjoy our outdoors and the $6.5 billion industry that supports them. The S.C. House unanimously passed H. 3858 today by a 111-0 vote. Championed by @RepBrewerSC114 and many others, the bill slashes the nation’s highest boat property taxes and eliminates motor titling. It now advances to Governor @henrymcmaster for consideration.
