'Lifechanging.' That's one word Meera Syal uses to describe dementia. She wears her Forget Me Not for her Father, and in solidarity for others who are experiencing dementia. ‘It's quite an emotional feeling seeing someone else wear one. You want to talk to them, hold their hand and go "I've been there".’ Why do you wear yours?

‘To begin with we thought, it’s just dad being dad.' @AnnaRichardso shares how her dad received a diagnosis of vascular dementia after a medical emergency meant he was rushed to hospital. ‘In hindsight, we were very fortunate because it can take months for other people to get a diagnosis.’ Getting a diagnosis can be daunting, but 91% of people affected by dementia believe it’s better to know.
