‘One day I went to visit, and she didn’t remember me. I said who I was and she said, “I’ve got a nephew called Jon. He’s a famous actor”. ‘I was very upset, and when I went home I told my son that my aunt had forgotten me. ‘He said, “No, Dad. She remembers you. She just doesn’t recognise you”.’ Our wonderful Ambassador, Sir Jonathan Pryce opens up to the @DailyMail about his family’s experience of dementia. In memory of his Aunt Mair, Sir Jonathan is backing the Mail’s Defeating Dementia campaign - because it will take a society to beat dementia.

'Lifechanging.' That's one word Meera Syal uses to describe dementia. She wears her Forget Me Not for her Father, and in solidarity for others who are experiencing dementia. ‘It's quite an emotional feeling seeing someone else wear one. So if you’re worried about yourself or someone close to you, download our symptoms checklist and speak to your GP if something doesn’t feel right.
