Some budding young politicians attended the @Royal_High_Sch My Future Friday session this morning! Huge thanks to Amanda Callaghan from the Better Homes Division at the Scottish Government and all pupils who got involved! ⚫️⚪️

The session will take place on Friday morning at 08:30 and any pupils who wish to attend should register with their form teacher before coming to the Assembly Hall!

We have another great @Royal_High_Sch My Future Friday opportunity this week as we welcome Mandy Callaghan from the Scottish Government! Mandy is Head of Private Housing at Holyrood and will be providing us with a bit of advice for any pupils interested in politics!

A fantastic restart to the @Royal_High_Sch My Future Friday programme this morning with @ChrisRDavison from Fairfield Real Estate Finance. We had a great chat about skills for the financial industry and opportunities for summer internships! Thanks to all for coming along!

Matthew has a very interesting story & will be providing us with a short presentation on how he got there and what his day-to-day looks like! Any pupils interested in this u dusty should get in touch with Mr Terris in PE. The session will take place on Thursday at 08:00 via Tems!

The @Royal_High_Sch My Future Friday programme continues this week with another former Royal High pupil, Matthew Phillips. Matthew is an Antarctic explorer and photographer who has spent 10 years working & teaching in some incredibly harsh and dangerous locations.

Joseph now lives and works in Melbourne, Australia and will be providing us with a bit of info on applying to study medicine, the journey through his studies and life as a doctor. The session will take place on Friday at 08:30 - see Mr Terris for more details!

The @Royal_High_Sch My Future Friday programme continues this week as we welcome Dr. Joseph Ghaemi. Joseph, a former School Captain at RHS, finished 6th year in 2009 and studied medicine at The University of Dundee.

Any pupils interested in studying psychology or neuroscience at university or college is encouraged to get involved and should get in touch with Mr Terris via email for more information!

This Friday (05/03), we are welcoming Niamh MacSweeney, a PhD student in Psychiatry from the @SchoolofPPLS at Edinburgh Uni. Niamh is going to talk to us about careers in research and psychology and how her experiences helped her decide that psychology was the career for her.

A quick reminder to all @Royal_High_Sch pupils that the My Future Friday programme continues to run on a fully virtual basis! Over the next few weeks, we are welcoming several guests from various different industries, so keep your eyes peeled for some exciting news coming up!

We might be down to the last few weeks before Christmas but @Royal_High_Sch My Future Friday is in full swing! This week we welcome Toni Ashby from global law firm @ClydeCoEC. Any pupils in S3-6 who are interested in a career in law should get involved!

1/2 And just like that it’s Week 5 of the @Royal_High_Sch My Future Friday programme! This week we welcome (via MS Teams) Robbie MacIver from Nationwide Building g Society. Mr MacIver works as a Mortgage Consultant and has a storied and interesting background.

2/2 Mr Grant has an interesting story to tell and is well worth the listen for any S3-6 pupils who are interested in a career in banking or who may be unsure of what they may want to do following life here at @Royal_High_Sch. If you need any more info, see Mr Terris in PE ⚫️⚪️

1/2 The My Future Friday programme kicks on this week (30/10) as we host (via Microsoft Teams) Mr Andy Grant from Elavon Bank. Mr Grant is a Payment Solution Consultant and works in finance for a global firm.

Great effort from all senior students who have completed the Mr Chambers Circuit for Cancer so far. It’s the turn of the s1 students tomorrow. ⚫️⚪️⚫️
