Ruth Hooker School’s Butterfly Garden Ceremony was today. We dedicate this to the children who did not come home and the survivors of Residential Schools. Thank you Mrs. Marsch, Mrs. Dejonckheere and Ms. Bercier for leading us in word and song.

Flying the Survivors’ Flag at Ruth Hooker School in honour of residential school Survivors.

In honour of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, The Selkirk Friendship Centre and The City of Selkirk has partnered to host a commemorative ceremony, remembering the lost children and survivors of residential schools. #TruthandReconciliation

Throughout the day on September 29th RHS students will have the opportunity to learn about the importance of honouring Orange Shirt Day. Students and staff will have the opportunity to smudge together. Students will need parental permission to participate.

Ruth Hooker School will recognize Orange Shirt Day as a school community on Thursday, September 29, 2022 beginning with a school assembly at 9:10 am.

September 30 marks the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation and all schools in LSSD will be closed. This day will be a time to honour the children who never returned home, and Survivors of residential schools.

This morning was Ruth Hooker School’s Terry Fox Run. Congrats to all of our students and staff for working hard.

Ruth Hooker students, staff and families participated in the Grandmothers Walk-Honouring and Protecting the Spirits of Children and Youth.

The province has declared Sept. 26-Sept. 30, 2022, as School Support Recognition Week in honour of the work done every day by school support staff for MB's students in K-12. Thanks to all our amazing support staff @LordSelkirk_SD! We value all that you do!
