Poverty is widespread in Nigeria. There are beggars everywhere, from the North to the South.
One morning, my colleague suddenly fa!nted in the office, shouting, “My chest! My chest!” The manager rushed over, and we all helped lift her up. He then asked one of us to escort her home. Later that evening, I called her to find out which hospital she had gone to so I could come and see her. She picked up the call… laughing. I could also hear noise in the background. I asked her what was going on, but she kept laughing. After a while, she finally told me the truth—it was all a setup. She just wanted an excuse to leave work so she could go and make her hair for an important wedding the next day. I was silent for a few seconds… then I ended the call. The whole office had been in a bad mood all day because we were worried about her, not knowing what was wrong. Only to find out it was all a lie. She came to the office the next working day, but no one spoke to her. The manager still didn’t know what really happened.

When I got there, the r0bb3rs told me the police had already called them.”
