On the margins of the Anti-Scam Conference held in #Singapore, Mr Jean Marie Twagirayezu, Director General in charge of Criminal Investigations at @RIB_Rw, and CP Egide Ruzigamanzi, Commissioner for Crime Intelligence at @Rwandapolice, met with DC Zhan Weihan, Deputy Commissioner (Investigation and Intelligence) and Director of the Criminal Investigation Department at @SingaporePolice. Discussions focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation, particularly in capacity building and the exchange of best practices, with a specific emphasis on combating online scam-related crimes. The two Rwandan delegates also toured the #Singapore Police Force’s Anti-Scam Command Centre to gain strategic and operational insights into the application of technology and innovation in countering scam-related crimes. @moiuae @CoopSecuDefense

After receiving the complaint from Glory Iribagiza, the Rwanda Investigation Bureau (RIB) conducted investigations, the suspect was arrested and detained. The case file was prepared and submitted to the Prosecution while the accused remained in detention. The Prosecution then forwarded the case to the court and later the suspect was released based on the conclusion of the medical legal report.

Today, #RIB Director General for Crime Intelligence and Counter Terrorism, Karake Peter, received a delegation from the Internal Audit Office of the Kingdom of Eswatini led by its Director, Ms. Portia Mamba. Their discussions covered anti-corruption policies, strategies, and prevention mechanisms, as well as RIB’s collaboration with the Office of the Ombudsman and other competent authorities to handle corruption cases and other injustices effectively.

Today, @Murangira_BT, Spokesperson of The Rwanda Investigation Bureau @RIB_rw, facilitated a civic education session for MINEMA staff on the nature and evolution of genocide ideology and related crimes, highlighting the role of every Rwandan in preventing and combating them. The session is part of a week-long capacity building training aimed at equipping MINEMA staff with the knowledge and practical skills to effectively deliver civic education, particularly in their engagement with Rwandan returnees. Participants are being strengthened to consistently integrate messages of unity, reconciliation, and responsible communication into their daily work, contributing to social cohesion and the prevention of negative ideologies.
