I did a midnight hike to the top and got stalked by a female mountain lion and her two cubs. She was really aggressive but the cubs kept to the shadows of boulders mostly. I won’t ever do any night hikes again without a fixed blade knife and a flashlight. She followed me all the way to my tent and sat outside my tent crouched down about 30 feet away while the 2 cubs played around. She took down a doe right before sunrise and those cubs got in on the kill. She clamped her teeth around the throat of the doe and dragged it off a little ways but I could still see the whole thing. Didn’t sleep at all that night and drove home the next day.
