Police officers are on the frontlines in keeping us safe, and we are deeply dismayed by these disturbing acts of violence. We send our support to the Edmonton Police Service during this dark time and to all who will be impacted by this unthinkable loss.

We share in grieving these officers as they made the ultimate sacrifice while serving and protecting their community. Our heartfelt condolences go to the family, friends, colleagues, and all those affected by this tragedy.

On behalf of Leduc City Council, I want to express the sincere sadness we felt upon hearing the tragic news that Const. Brett Ryan and Const. Travis Jordan of the Edmonton Police Service were killed in the line of duty today.
