#vss365 #wound I didn’t fall apart all at once. I leaked. Days bled into nights, nights into habits, habits into a version of me that learned how to smile without teeth. There are wounds that don’t scream they whisper. They ask for nothing. They just stay open until you forget what it felt like to be untouched. I learned survival the hard way: by becoming quiet, by folding my wants into neat corners, by calling absence “space” and neglect “patience.” Somewhere along the line I mistook endurance for strength, and kept loving with a body that was already bruised. Now when I bleed, it’s not dramatic. It’s a slow stain in the way I hesitate before trusting, in how tenderness makes me flinch, in how I crave softness but don’t know how to rest inside it. Still I’m standing. Not healed. Not whole. But breathing through the ache, learning that bleeding doesn’t always mean dying. Sometimes it means you’re still alive enough to feel what tried to kill you and failed
