The fuel protest at O’Connell Street today. A lot more flags than on previous days.

It was a bitterly cold night. When we arrived at 6pm, the queue was already long, people had been lining up since 4pm, standing for hours just to get what they need. Each week, it becomes harder to accept how many elderly people and children are in that line. It shouldn’t be this way. Two young men approached us, clearly rough sleeping. They didn’t ask for much, just clean socks and underwear. It’s heartbreaking. We only had hats, gloves and scarves, so one of our team quickly went to Penneys and bought some. Handing over something so basic and seeing their relief is something that stays with you. We served 400 meals last night, with six tables full of food. None of this would be possible without the incredible support we receive every week. Thank you to Sacfo Fine Food Food for their continued generosity, Al-Khair for providing 100 meals weekly at a reduced cost, Brass Onion Bistro for donating around 60 meals, and Dabar for supplying 50–60 meals at little cost. Also a special mention to Golden Olive restaurant . We’re also grateful to FoodCloud for the ambient food that fills our tables. As an HSE-registered soup run, transparency in everything we distribute is essential, and FoodCloud plays a vital role. To all our supporters, partners and volunteers, thank you. We couldn’t do this without you. Wishing everyone a safe and peaceful bank holiday weekend. Please donate: msoe.ie/donate

I say this with some confidence. That is not someone who has just had or is having a heart attack. An alibi maybe. 🤔

Read this headline. As Irish citizens we must get the US out of Shannon. They fly weapons and personnel through Shannon to commit unspeakable crimes. Now they shackle and parade people through the airport like medieval prisoners. Sickening
