We were showing new staff members the benefit that fans can provide during these “dog days of summer.” This is a FLIR video I took a few seasons ago. You can see the surface temperature drop as the fan blows air across the surface. I wonder if there is a benefit to cooling more at night due to higher humidity. Moving air across the green to allow better gas exchange out of the leaves for cooling.

@BZturf Looks Like bunker solutions on the face, we did ours in 2021 with them and have zero issues. Not sure I’ve seen anything like the other though.

Anyone ever seen bunker construction like this? New method? Bunkers were done in 2021-2022 I was told.

@ThePalmAgro Thanks we have a mat we’ve used for years just trying to find a way to carry it since the new machine doesn’t have a front blade. Think we’ve found something to try now though.

@RLM7589 We buys rolls of artificial turf and cut it to size. Works well (easy to handle) but not very durable. Annual spend of about $320 (2 rolls @ 16’x10’ iirc).

Is anyone using rubber mats to enter and exit bunkers to protect the face? We are and looking for a way to carry on the machine bs having to send a guy and cart to carry.

@RLM7589 Jessica Stover with the @GCSAA emailed me a letter, as my card had not showed up. My card showed up a day before I left this year, but I felt confident if I needed to use the letter.

Question for all supers out there, I’ve misplaced my GCSAA card and was thinking about a day trip to the Masters, has anyone ever used the letter from GCSAA stating you are class A and in good standing? Was told it would work but don’t need to drive 4 hours and it not.
