The rules and state of the game continue to be a major topic of discussion among fans, current players and past players. Clint Newton, CEO of the RLPA, has provided an update on where things currently stand as the RLPA collates player feedback for the NRL.

Round 2 of Keep Fit Keep Connected kicked off in style in the Shire 💪 Hosted by the RLPA’s Joe Galuvao, past players came together for another session, getting put through their paces by @Bradtaka_, before catching up for a coffee and breakfast after ☕️ These sessions are all about getting a sweat in and reconnecting with fellow past players, so it was great to see both familiar and new faces getting involved in the Shire 👏

Nathan was on another level in March 🔥 RLPA’s Tinirau Arona presented Nathan Cleary with his RLPA Player of the Month award for March at a recent @penrithpanthers club visit.

Congratulations to all players who reached milestones in Round 9 of the NRL 🙌

Jamie Buhrer, Daniel’s former teammate and the RLPA’s General Manager of Player and Football Operations, said:

“Daniel should be incredibly proud of everything he has achieved in rugby league.

“I was fortunate to know Daniel from the early stages of his career, when he was an emerging first grader helping establish a new culture at Newcastle. 

“From the beginning, he carried himself with the qualities you want in a teammate. He worked hard, trained tough, and held himself and those around him to high standards.

“Most importantly, Daniel is a great person with a beautiful family, and that is what has always stood out most and it’s what will serve him well for the next chapter in his career.

“Retirement is never an easy decision, particularly when the circumstances are not entirely on your own terms. But Daniel leaves the game with the respect of his teammates, opponents and the wider rugby league community.

“On behalf of the RLPA, I want to congratulate Daniel on his career, wish him and his beautiful family all the very best for the future, and welcome him into our Past Player and Transition Program.”

Following his immediate retirement, the RLPA congratulates Daniel Saifiti on his outstanding contribution to the game and wishes him and his family all the best for what comes next.
