@Henry92589880 An interesting point. However, I never came around to Jennifer’s Body. And Showgirls initially released when I was too young to watch it. But when I did watch it in graduate school, I instantly liked it, and would even go on to include it in my film studies curriculum.

@RLTerry1 I feel it’s more of a cult film. I remember when Jennifer’s Body got trashed to pieces. But it found its following. Same with Showgirls

There’s a good movie somewhere in THE BRIDE—perhaps several. The irony is that the film itself feels as Frankensteined together as the titular “monster” at its center. However, the performative dimension is solid and the nods to golden age song and dance films add a nice touch.
