“When you look at what RMEF accomplished in the past year, and what we’re working toward for the future, 42 is not just another anniversary,” said Kyle Weaver, RMEF president and CEO. “We’re proud of the wins we’ve had in land conservation, access, habitat stewardship, research and advocacy for hunters of elk and other big game species. But we’re also focused on looking ahead to ensure big game across the nation has quality habitat and to ensure hunters can access it.” 42 years of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation 🎉 What year did you become a RMEF member? Save this video for your next chainsaw project. ✔️ You can’t properly show up for wildlife if you don’t protect yourself with the right gear. STIHL Pro Andrew gives you the list of which P.P.E. you need to stay safe, especially when it comes to working with barbed wire and chainsaws. Volunteer approved 👍

January 2026. 1 AM. Northern Idaho. A trail cam blinks on. Something steps onto an old overpass above Interstate 90... something locals in Osburn, Idaho, had been waiting for for a long time. Elk were finally crossing the “bridge to nowhere.” Watch the story unfold on our YouTube 🔗 Our new film “Bridge to Nowhere” is out now: youtu.be/RZpILeqmq44 #RMEF #Wildlife #Idaho #Volunteer

1.5 million big game animals are hit on the road every year in the U.S. Now, one bridge in Idaho is changing that number -- for good. For 50 years, an interstate overpass lay untouched. Osburn, Idaho, local Carl Wilson knew it still had potential. He wanted to give it new life as a wildlife bridge and made that known for a decade before he passed in 2022. But his message was heard, and locals rallied around him to make his dream a reality. In 2023, RMEF received funding for 11 shovel-ready projects, one of which was Carl's wildlife crossing. Watch Carl's vision come to life in our new film, “Bridge to Nowhere,” now available on YouTube 🔗 youtu.be/RZpILeqmq44 #RMEF #Wildlife #Idaho #Volunteer

“This is the kind of work that you feel really good about and go home at the end of the day hardly able to lift your arms, but this is what matters a lot...” The idea for the wildlife crossing didn’t come overnight -- it was a dream an Osburn, Idaho, resident had for a decade. Carl Wilson stayed loud about the idea to turn an overpass that was unused for 50 years into a wildlife crossing. After he passed in late 2022, volunteers vowed to make it happen. And in 2026, the first elk crossed the bridge. Watch the full story youtu.be/RZpILeqmq44 #RMEF #Wildlife #Idaho #Volunteer

“We would like to thank both county attorney’s offices for all of their work through the years on these cases,” said Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks Region 2 Warden Captain Kyle Miller. “The Ravalli County Attorney’s Office, and particularly Deputy County Attorney David Lakin, dedicated a lot of time and energy to these cases, and we appreciate his extra efforts.”

Trail cameras capture elk traits we don't often get to see, such as curiosity and other playful personality attributes. In a previous #TrailCamTuesday, we saw an elk using this cam as a scratcher. But what is this bull doing? Action captured by @stealthcam
