"Subhas just felt once of k!lling Hitler... had he been allowed to stay longer in Germany he would surely have done so. See his courage, he was telling me, a Nazi, that he wanted to k!ll Hitler" ~ Dr. Welter Norden, an ex-Nazi & an assistant of Netaji

Home Ministry file on my grandfather's resolution moved in the Lok Sabha in 1960 to rename Andaman and Nicobar Islands to Shahid and Swaraj. (The note read Swadesh instead of Shahid because of a typographical error, which was corrected by an amendment). The following text is from Bose: The Untold Story, p 500. ************* Moving a resolution in the Lok Sabha on 11 March 1960 to rename the islands as Shahid and Swaraj, Subiman Ghose of the Forward Bloc said, ‘I am offering an opportunity to the Government to liquidate a fraction of the huge debt that the country owes to Azad Hind Fauj and its supreme commander’. The minister of state for home affairs, B.N. Datar requested Ghose to withdraw his resolution on the grounds that ‘there have been many martyrs in different parts of India, and there have been many places associated with the martyrdom of a number of great martyrs, whose services have brought Swaraj to India’, and, therefore, ‘whenever any memorial has to be raised, then it ought not to be in respect of a farflung island, but it should be on the mainland itself’. ‘I thought that the Tripuri episode had been forgotten but I think up till now that has not been forgotten’, Ghose quipped. @anujdhar

How IB became the mistress which served two masters: Under a Top Secret clause of Transfer of Power in 1947, IB was made subservient to British intelligence. And so, IB supplied to London, inter alia, intelligence about Subhas Bose. They must have received some as well.

Subhas & Saraswati 🧵🌼 Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose was such an ardent follower of Devi Saraswati that he took up celebrating Saraswati Puja against all odds, not once but twice in his lifetime and also named his favourite spy of INA, India’s youngest female spy, as Saraswathi !

It is not only a shot in the arm for our #MissionNetaji campaign, but a dream come true for me. Having grown up as an avid and addicted reader of Bengal's most loved kids' magazine from 1977, it gives me a sense of immense achievement to have #Anandamela publish my cover story showing that the story of #Netaji's death in the plane crash was just a hoax and that he returned to India. 🙂 This is also very different from the usual position of the ABP group. In his notes in Nov 1946, Attlee lists out the reasons for which they can't rule India for another 18 yrs. Notice most crucial point (c) as it serves as an indirect indicator of INA's role. Also no mention of Britain's declining economy as reason Source:-Transfer of power, Vol.9

@narendramodi Thank you Anuj @anujdhar Because of your relentless work, I finally understood the real truth about our beloved #Netaji Until then, my understanding was shallow and limited to nothing more than Kadam Kadam Badhaye Ja. Your work didn’t just inform me. It opened my eyes. 🙏🙏

"There was considerable sympathy for the INA within the Army. ...I am convinced that well over 90 per cent of officers at that time felt along those lines." -- Lt Gen SK Sinha ( who along with Sam Manekshaw and Yahya Khan were the only natives posted to the hitherto exclusively Directorate of Military Operations in 1946) @ShubhamAzadHind @ProfKapilKumar
School of International Studies@sisjnu_official

Gen. Anil Chauhan: Indian National Army as a movement, awakened national consciousness. INA was also an expression of unity in diversity because its organization didn't concentrate on region, caste, religion, or gender. #ParakramDiwas2026 #NetajiSubhasChandraBose @amitabhmattoo.

As we observe #ParakramDiwas today - the Jayanti of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose - it's worth noting that the renewed national focus on Netaji has deeper philosophical roots. In this 1997 speech at an event commemorating a statue of Netaji, @narendramodi articulated a powerful idea - that such efforts to recognise national heroes preserve moral memory and shape national consciousness. "Just as a temple awakens devotion in a village, the memory of national heroes awakens a lifelong commitment to the nation." He emphasised that when citizens encounter national memory in their everyday lives, their sense of responsibility toward the nation deepens organically. Decades later, these early convictions translated into concrete action - as Chief Minister launching 'E-gram Vishwagram' in 2009 from Haripura, the very place where Netaji had lit the flame for Swaraj, and then as Prime Minister: the grand statue at India Gate, renaming Ross Island as Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Dweep, establishing January 23rd as Parakram Diwas, declassification of secret Netaji files, Subhash Chandra Bose Museum & INA exhibit at Red Fort and numerous other initiatives.

For every Bengali, Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose is not just a chapter in history -he is an emotion that lives in the blood, the breath, the backbone. On his birth anniversary, we don’t merely remember a leader; we bow to a storm that refused to be tamed. From the narrow lanes of Cuttack to the thunderous call of “Give me blood, and I will give you freedom,” Netaji taught us that freedom is never begged for -it is seized with courage, sacrifice, and unbreakable resolve. For us Bengalis, he is গর্ব (pride) and অভিমান (defiance) rolled into one. He showed the world that intellect and bravery can walk hand in hand, that discipline can coexist with rebellion, and that love for the motherland can demand the highest personal sacrifice. While others debated the path to freedom, Netaji chose action. While others compromised, he marched forward alone if needed. Netaji didn’t just dream of an independent India; he dreamt of a strong, self-respecting India that would never bow its head again. His life reminds us that patriotism is not convenience, it is commitment. Not slogans, but sacrifice. Even today, when we feel lost, tired, or defeated, remembering Netaji rekindles a fire within us a reminder that courage is a choice, and silence in the face of injustice is not neutrality, it is surrender. On this day, a grateful nation and an emotional Bengal salutes its eternal son. Netaji lives on, not in statues or slogans, but in every heart that dares to stand tall. Jay Hind🙏

Bose: the Military Strategist: ‘Today Britain can hardly call herself ‘the Mistress of the Seas.' Her phenomenal rise in the 18thand 19th centuries was the result of her sea power. Her decline as an Empire in the 20th century will be the outcome of the emergence of a new factor in world history -the Airforce.’ AI Image. #ParakramDiwas2026 #Subhashchandrabosejayanti
