@PUNC21BethEvans This is such a bug bear when I see fellow nurses leave the students with the HCAs the entire time. I always include students in drug rounds regardless of year. Never too soon to be learning the 5 Rights and getting to grips with frequently used meds, including pt interaction!

Had my initial interview yesterday where I was told I’ll be mainly shadowing the HCAS for my 8 weeks, so I know the ward, and when asking about my meds management, I was told that ‘Med rounds are too overwhelming for a first year’. 👍🏻😂

We don’t even know where to start with this…our Prime Minister not wearing a mask in an NHS hospital. While elsewhere in the same hospital no doubt people lay sick and dying from COVID 19 as staff held their hands. Is this sheer arrogance or just plain contempt for NHS staff?

@StNurseProject Question - what do you think the impact of Covid19 has had on the development for students and their readiness for practice? And is there anything newly qualified nurses would benefit from practice educators in this transition?

@punc14_1 I’d love to get into practice nursing, proving quite challenging in Scotland to find a post where they don’t require prev practice nurse experience. Glad you’re loving it!

The ward I work on now in Scotland, I’ve never seen a manual, not even in emergencies - always machines. I’ve questioned it and asked and the response is often they’ve never learned manual so machines are standard. I miss manuals

On my morning 30 minute break today I got interrupted 6 times by nurses, HCAs and a doctor. I don’t get paid for those 30 minutes so can I at least refuel in peace? Unless of course it’s urgent or an emergency. But if it’s not… really?

Not sure what kind of country or society Tories are aiming for, but one in which the wealthy few strut about having beaten the poor, the vulnerable, the immigrant, the asylum-seeker, the farmer, the fisherman or indeed any of its citizens isn’t one that’s worth that much.
